BE CHIC AND MIX FABRICS AND PATTERNS If the mere thought of mixing stripes with polka dots scares you, have no fear. Here are some very simple tips that you can share with your customers to coordinate many fabrics and patterns and avoid making any fashion faux-pas: 1.
Choose patterns that are bold or very defined instead of small discreet patterns because they will show that your combination was deliberate.
2.
Make sure that there is at least one colour creating a common thread between the different patterns. Don’t forget, this colour should match with the rest of the outfit (offwhite does not like pure white!).
3.
If you are still not convinced, create a simple combination by choosing different pieces with the same pattern but of different sizes.
Tweed, stripes and polka dots - why not? Besides mixing patterns, creating an outfit with mixed fabrics can be difficult. In this case, black and chalk link the different patterns. The dress can also be replaced by a floral or lace print top worn with a skinny pant.

PATTERNS AND SILHOUETTES The patterns’ trend is still very important this season. When well combined, they can also act as an illusion (trompe l’oeil) and create a diversion to attract attention where you want it. Simply wear your piece on the part of your body that you would like to emphasize, like the top of your body for the triangle silhouette or on your hips and legs for the inverted triangle silhouette. Trick of the trade to guide your choices: a pattern on a dark background is slimming and fine stripes do not create a wider effect!
The stripes in the skirt shape the hips and thighs, making it a great choice for the inverted triangle and rectangle silhouettes. Add patterns and texture with a lace top.

PATTERNS AND SILHOUETTES
The patterns and colour on the upper body have a widening effect, making it a perfect choice for the triangle silhouette. Do not hesitate to make different combinations!

WINTER’S MUST: THE JEGGING ! In February, JACOB is introducing its version of the jegging: very stretchy jeans that resemble the legging because they are skin-tight and have an elastic band that replaces the zipper on traditional jeans. It is therefore out of the question that it be worn with short blouses and sweaters! Instead, choose a casual and styled look with long and loose-fitting tops. As for footwear, we love that they slip easily into boots. However, they also look chic with ballerina flats and high heels.
Did you know? Our jeggings are made of 6% elastane, a fibre that allows the fabric to stretch. The standard market rate for stretchy jeans is 3-4%.
