Turning Tool Setter TTS-100
Razor sharp edges
Exact replication to a pre-determined edge geometry The new and patented TTS-100 Setter This new and unique Turning Tool Setter TTS-100 perfects the TORMEK sharpening system. It enables you to exactly replicate the edge on your bowl gouges and spindle gouges as well as on your flat or oval skews with a straight or a curved edge. The setter works with the articulated Gouge Jig SVD‑185 and the Multi Jig SVS‑50. The strength of the Setter is that it works irrespectively of the stone diameter. You always get exactly the same edge angle – even when you switch from a worn stone to a new, larger one. The Turning Tool Setter works as well when setting the edge angle for honing on the leather honing wheel. This is how it works Like most good inventions, the design is effective and very easy to use. There are no adjustments to be done. The TTS-100 can be used on any TORMEK model. You just slide the Setter onto the Universal Support (A) using the appropriate hole. Position the Universal Support so that both of the metal contact discs (B) are in contact with the grindstone or leather honing wheel. Now the setting is perfect, irrespective of the wheel diameter.
The left hole is used for bowl gouges.
The right hole is used for spindle gouges and skews.
Mount the tool in the jig using the protrusion measure on the Setter TTS-100.
Set the Universal Support with the Setter.
Hone and polish the edge to a razor sharpness.
Remove the burr left in the flute on the Profiled Leather Honing Wheel.
A perfectly touched up and honed edge in 60 seconds This shows how easily you can touch up and hone the edge on your bowl gouge with the SVD-185 Gouge Jig. Your skews are done in a similar way with the SVS‑50 Multi Jig. Detailed instructions come with the TTS Setter.
