Building Safer Families Working with families to break the cycle of domestic and family violence

How we support Building Safer Families: • Counselling for individuals address the needs of all family members who are healing from the trauma and/or impacts of violence and abuse. • Women’s and Children’s Advocacy and Support work to improve safety, and provide access to community support and guidance. • Men’s Behaviour Change Groups work with men who have used violence or abuse and want to change their behaviours, beliefs and attitudes. • Women’s support groups provide a safe space to gain an understanding of the impact of abuse, and begin the recovery process through case work after guidance. • Children’s and Adolescents’ Support offer a safe space for children who have experienced violence in the home and a place they can go to if they feel afraid or unsafe. • Family support can be offered through counselling and programs to assist in the rebuilding of healthy relationships once the use of abuse has been addressed.
