With only 16 residents to a cottage, Caloola embraces a new model of home-style aged care dedicated to easing the transition for residents and delivering a caring environment that feels like home. Our MyTeam approach makes sure that your regular team will be full of familiar faces who get to know your story and provide personalised, genuine care tailored to you.

Caloola provides dedicated support to a well-loved community of vibrant individuals, including heartfelt palliative care and specialised support for those living with dementia. Caloola is nestled amongst the peaceful backdrop of Wagga’s scenic landscape, delivering the highest quality of care in an environment which allows residents to thrive.

Life at Caloola can be as lively or as peaceful as you want to make it. Our lifestyle coordinators create varied activity calendars to promote mental and physical health, including exercise programs, outings, crafts, games, live entertainment, and celebrations for special occasions. Nearby shops, clubs and churches are ready for you to explore. Whatever your interests, Caloola is yours to enjoy.

Your Life at Caloola

At any age, it’s important to have meaning and purpose, and to have fun. If you like taking it slow, there’s beautifully landscaped gardens bursting with Australian natives to relax in or stroll around. If you like to stay active, our multipurpose physiotherapy/gym room is the place for you. If you prefer to be pampered, a visit to our hair and beauty salon will do the trick.

For the social butterfly, there’s always an activity to join or someone ready for a chat at the Café. Our Dining Meals are exceptional, and your friends and family are welcome to join. We have a family function room perfect for celebrating life’s special moments with your loved ones – and our hairdresser can help you to look your best for the occasion.

At Caloola, we make sure to offer something special for everyone. Join creative sessions like painting, physical activities like our walking groups, or gardening with other green thumbs. Resident-led activities, such as book clubs and Sunday brunches, happen naturally and often as friendships grow.

Unlike traditional approaches, we empower residents with the freedom to choose their meals in the moment, avoiding the need for pre-selection days in advance and making sure that residents able to choose what they want, when they want it.

Your dedicated Care Team Manager will meet with you and your family to plan how we can best support your choices, preferences and needs. You’ll have access to a range of health professionals onsite, including registered nurses on duty 24/7. Rest assured – we are here to provide the care you need, whenever you might need it.

This means that you’ll have the same friendly faces on your team every day, making sure that we understand your needs and preferences and can create a comfortable, stable environment for you.

Dementia Care

At BaptistCare, we understand the unique challenges faced by those with dementia and tailor our care to what brings meaning and purpose to each resident's life.

In creating supportive environments for dementia, we implement features like wayfinding cues, orientation landmarks, and personalised resident display boxes.

Beyond exceptional care and pleasant surroundings, we recognise that true living means experiencing joy, purpose, and social connections. Our Lifestyle Teams are devoted to supporting residents in living life their way, offering a variety of activities and special programs such as Connecting Through Music and Sensory Connections Clubs. These initiatives aim to stimulate active minds, build and maintain cultural and social connections and contribute to the resident’s ability to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.

Palliative Care

Our palliative approach involves listening with compassion and discussing your choices with you and your family on admission and throughout your stay. Together with residents, family and staff, we adapt your care plan to suit your changing needs and prioritise comfort, dignity and cultural respect around endof-life care.

Through our ‘Affirm, Balance, Comfort’ approach, residents actively participate in end-of-life care decisions and families receive compassionate support through the process, ensuring that the care plan will always reflect the changing needs of the individual and their loved ones.

Chaplaincy Care

As a Christian not-for-profit organisation, our purpose is to respect and care for you. Our chaplains are here to support you through life’s challenges and experiences, whatever your beliefs and however you express your spirituality. They’ll spend time getting to know you, offer friendship, and be there to support you in times of need.

Residents have power and ventilation provisions in the joinery suitable for a small personal fridge, and each room has an individualised key and resident display cases to support residents’ ongoing independence. Health and safety are of the upmost importance and timber-look vinyl provides durable, slip-resistant flooring. Each room is equipped with air conditioning and a ceiling fan.
