WHEN WE WERE TODDLERS WE WERE LORDS OF BABY DUMMIES AND RATTLES, LATER WE CONTROLLED DOLLS, CARS AND TEDDY BEARS, DURING OUR SCHOOL YEARS WE COULD ALREADY MANIPULATE KNOWLEDGE, THOUGHTS, OUR IMAGINATION, AND AFTER THAT CLIMBING THE CAREER LADDER WE COULD ALMOST PERFECTLY CONTROL PEOPLE…! AND WHAT IF WE COULD CONTROL THE UNIVERSE? TODAY CHILDREN OF UKRAINE WILL SHARE THEIR OPINIONS AND KNOWLEDGE ON HOW TO SOLVE THIS DIFFICULT QUESTION…
Dyminskaya Daniella Master of the Universe is a post of high revere and one should take it very responsibly! As my actions would influence lives and health of people on Earth and creatures in other galaxies! I’d probably start with creating a huge intergalactic base that is controlled by superintelligent robots, but subordinate to humans, so that heads of all planets and galaxies could gather there for mutual technology exchange. Like how to get rid of space wastem and how to rebuild Earth’s ozone for every transport type, from cars to supersonic spaceships! And of course I would consider solving Humanity’s healthcare problems, like inventing a cure capable of defeating cancer, AIDS and other incurable diseases!
Garazdovskiy Dominik If I was the master of the Universe, I would first stop all wars on Earth! I would make it so that all people on my planet were honest and kind, and so that absolute love was everywhere. I would build ecofriendly plants everywhere that would use the energy of sun, wind and water. I’d set up production of cars that are fueled by solar batteries. I’d forbid the production of plastic all around the world, and those that we have accumulated throughout the decades I would recycle into something useful. I’d destroy all the space waste and also I would plant lots of big trees around the planet. I’d create the living conditions on all planets in the Solar system. I’d clean up all the seas, oceans, rivers and lakes. I’d get Ukraine and Russia to make peace. I would create a marvel superhero team on my planet, so that they could protect everybody and help me support the rules and laws of my Universe
Kasadzhik Anastasia In my dreams of being a Master of the Universe it’s all laid out! Somebody will say that it’s utopia, and, well ,it may be so, but nevertheless it’s how i see it! I’d make sure that all people are happy. Nobody would have to experience famine, unemployment, everybody would have their own house, warm and cozy. I’d stop all wars and conflicts. There would be no evil, violence, lies, hypocrisy and deception in my world . Everyone would have the opportunity to enhance their abilities and talents, so that they could fulfill them in any sphere that is of benefit to Earth. The world would become ecologically clean. Pollution of the environment would stop. People would cut down on the use of natural resources. My world is bright and spectacular. It is ideal.
Tasazh Arseniy Of course, possessing such power, I would dedicate most of my time to the search of new inhabitable planets and alternative energy and fuel sources. For people of Earth I would provide a supply of water and medicine into the African countries, I’d build hospitals there that would have qualified doctors and equipment. I’d enforce a law that forbids the production of plastic, and ensures that every house and street has a special recycling container. I’d shut down all power plants, of course only after I’ve had found an alternative energy source. I would take care of all racial and other conflicts and wars. I would not allow for unemployment and famine to exist. And also I would give every kid on Earth the toy he or she dreams about!
Dubas Valeriya If I controlled the Universe, then i would trust with all governmental decisions of planetary scale to my trusted and responsible assistants, who I would pick myself! I, on the other hand, would work on entertainment for people of Earth and other planets. I would construct a rollercoaster from Earth to a little known planet called Gem, that is located not far from Jupiter. People would go there for annual competition that takes place in the city of Fay. Unicorns against Gafuds, that run with speeds over 500 hundred meters per second – an unique sight! The way back to Earth would only be possible with a portal that transports on to the top of Eiffel tower, and from there tourists could be driven home. Money gathered from tickets would go to the research of a super powerful defense from meteors, magnetic storms and invasion of the Martians!

MAYBE THEY CAN MAKE IT TO YOUR HEARTS… PEACE FU LE X Unfortunately, humanity does not care about preserving the planet on which it has been living for more than half a million years. Compared to several centuries ago our planet is a dumpster! Humans need to begin thinking about the possibility of living on other planets. To search for ways to harvest alternative energy resources on other planets. And also to communicate with aliens. Yes! Because after several hundred years, or even after several decades, we may not be able to live on our planet, and so aliens will have to help us! Maybe in another solar system our on another planet there are creatures who can process Earth’s junk for energy? It’s a pity that our planet has lots of this junk to provide! Such cooperation will be very beneficial! But despite the possibility of our close move to Aldebaran or Jupiter, it is still necessary to care about Earth, as it’s surely one of a kind!

The ecology problem, nowadays, is one of the most urgent for all of humanity! Deforestation , atmospheric pollution, reduction of the amounts of harvestable minerals, destruction of ozone layer – are main but surely not last things that influence the quality of our life. our cities drown in piles of trash! We need to learn how to live in harmony with nature, without destroying it! Multi-step recycling, reduced plastic production and a taboo on ditching the waste into the oceans and seas, convenient utilization and correct organization of natural state of environment will help humanity not to “drown” in chemicals and dirt! And I, personally, would have started developing a universal fertilizer, that makes trees and plants grow faster and makes them produces several times more oxygen, I hope then our planet will finally be able to let out a breath of relief! Taking two thirds of Earth’s surface, the world ocean provides people with around one sixth of all animal protein, and 68% of all oxygen is produced by phytoplankton! What will happen next if we continue to destroy and pollute such a natural miracle? I’d like people to think about the further fate of our planet. I want to invent a machine that would gather seaweed and deep-sea tangles in the ocean, from which vitamin cocktails could be made, and also I want to construct the largest laboratory for artificial breeding of fish and mammals who are close to extinction. Little self-taught robots would explore every ocean dweller, without hurting them…I want every living being on Earth, to care for their own planet and to contribute even a little to it’s salvation!

Nowadays, according to World Health Organisation, there are approximately 0,8 to 1,2 billion people in the world starving or malnourished. These are horrible numbers! Increasing the size of farming fields and improving the harvest numbers using modern technology is one of possible ways to solve this problem. In Africa and Asia, for example, introducing new revolutionary technology in the agrarian sphere would allow to make their farms more effective than they are today! It would be good to create little robots who would keep the soil in ideal conditions, they would water it and also protect it from diseases and pests! And also it would be great if rich people wouldn’t buy much more food than they can actually eat, as they later throw it away, while at the same time somewhere in a different country somebody might be starving to death!

It is a pity that people, while polluting our planet, do not think about its future, and that means that they ignore the future of their children as well! Because, if we don’t do anything after a few decades, our planet will drown in garbage and toxic waste, and people will have to walk around in gas masks! My offer is to construct a mechanism that would evaporate garbage using the electric field, without any damage to living beings and plants. Super powerful “vacuum cleaner” installed in every city would recycle dust and dangerous gases into a pleasing aroma, which women would like, while also infusing it with ions of silver. Cyberfish would be let out into the lakes, seas and oceans and at the slightest sight of pollution they would clean the waters from oil, chemicals and garbage, and their hypersensitive and powerful cameras installed in the fins and tail would be capable of spotting a human that is littering, after which the cyber-fish locks onto this human and strikes him with a slight electric charge. Maybe this will finally make people stop polluting the environment!

It’s interesting what’s going to happen when gas, oil and coal resources will drain up? Humanity has exploited the natural resources to such an extent that scientists have been looking to find an alternative for a long time! Solar energy would be one of the ways to solve this problem! Space would be perfect for construction of solar energy plants, as you could construct them in places where they are under constant sunlight . The energy would be transferred from space plants to Earth via radio waves, and it would be further accumulated and relocated by special energy stations in cities. All cars would be equipped with solar panels and equipment for energy accumulation, and all buildings would be equipped with special materials during construction, that would allow to keep warmth during winter and cool temperature during hot seasons. Sun is an infinite energy source and humanity should learn how to use it properly!

CENTURIES AGO, WHEN THE MIGHTY CARPATHIAN FORESTS WERE STILL YOUNG, WHEN RIVERS AND LAKES USED TO NOURISH THE LAND WITH WATER AS CLEAR AS TEARS, WHEN THE AIR STILL BOASTED WITH ITS CLEANNESS AND FRESHNESS AND WHEN THE SMELL OF SMOKE AND FRESH BREAD MARKED THE PRESENCE OF PEOPLE, OUR ANCESTORS USED TO POSSESS MAGICAL KNOWLEDGE, THAT HELPED THEM TO UNDERSTAND THE LANGUAGE OF BIRDS AND ANIMALS, IT’S A SHAME THAT WE’VE ALMOST LOST THIS ABILITY… It is true that our ancestors, when settling in the forests, on the mountains and plains, used to live in harmony with nature, as they deemed it their home and greatest gift of the Creator! A horse wasn’t just a cattle and a workforce, it was a part of the family, a trustworthy helper who is faster, stronger and possible even wiser than those around him. An owl was not just a forest dweller, it was an embodiment of a certain magical power, of supernatural knowledge and prophecies, but falcons were those who had special treatment, in the ancient slavic culture they were known as “first birds” magical sight of which could see life itself originating in the primordial darkness! Our ancestors praised all living beings, respected their way of life and rituals, while understanding their essence and higher purpose, our ancestors conjured and collected arcane knowledge with every piece of their soul and body, with every touch and every sound, be it a creak of a hundred years old oak, screech of an old raven, twitter of a swallow or a fierce roar of a bear, everything made sense, everything had magic in it, the magic of spiritual understanding and close interaction of Nature and Human! 12 • WE ARE THE WORLD

Slavs are one of the most ancient peoples . To this day they believe in the existence of the “domovoy”(spirit of the household), jump over the fire during the Kupala Night (not just for fun but also out of belief in the strength of fire). Slavs use spells to cure warts, they deem the mountain stream water to be of special healing properties, nettle and mint, according to slavs, are wards against evil spirits. We are not too distinct from our pre-christian ancestors, who believed in Svarog and Perun! Their testament to us is to honor our Gods and Ancestors. To always live by our Conscience and in harmony with the MotherNature, isn’t this something that every human should aspire to? Every ancient slavic God was a manifestation of a certain power, energy, universal vibration, if you will, that is responsible for its own “sector of work”. Svarog, the Highest God, God of Justice. He has taught humans to make cheese and home cheese out of milk, these two treats being once considered the food and gift of the Gods. He created with more than just word and magic, he created with his hands, he created the material world. Svarog’s love for work served as an example for people, as he had also taught people that only with one’s own work can one achieve a set goal. Ancient slavs considered him to be a symbol of a wise warrior and father, a true lord and protector of his own kin. In case of danger, he could summon all of his kin to him with a strike of his hammer, to secure the enemy’s defeat. Back in times when the Slavs were at war with their foreign enemies, Svarog had been portrayed as a great warrior who wore red armour and wielded a huge bulat sword. His testament to our ancestors was that swords, bows and axes should be used to defend one’s land and people, but never to attack! Svarog had taught the Slavic Kin to understand the essence of the Higher Existence, he helped to understand that Gods are the living energy of the universe, and they are inside of us. Svarog made it possible for a person, woman or man, to reach a new level of spiritual development. It’s not a religion, it’s Belief, origins of which had allowed the creators of Trypillian culture, Sarmatia, The Great Skolotia and The Kingdom of Antes to make a mighty kin of the Slavs, that would come to inhabit massive chunks of territory, from Balkans to the Bering Strait! MOTHERHOOD MEANS TO FORGIVE AND TO SACRIFICE ONESELF ERICH MARIA REMARQUE What can have more tenderness, selflessness and dedication than the love of a mother for her child?! This great, universal strength is able to achieve marvelous things. It’s a limitless amount of all-forgiveness, understanding, care and worry for the future of one’s own child. Some kind of an invisible, subtle and infinitely durable string is drawn between their souls, and if the child is hurt, may it even be thousands of kilometers away, the mother’s heart will echo with this pain! Throughout life mother will protect her children from all the troubles, problems and misfortunes with her invisible wings of care and protection. Draw me a life THE BEST WAY TO MAKE CHILDREN KIND IS TO MAKE THEM HAPPY OSCAR WILDE When we are born, «thrown» into the whirlwind of bright flashes sounds and smells, we probably think that everything that surrounds us right here and now is actually the great and unknown world! We grow, and our room now becomes this world, after that our house, yard, city... We are extremely curious about every closed door, maybe there’s something behind it, an entrance to Narnia, a land full of mystery, surprises and unbelievable adventures! We pretend to be superheroes who are saving the Universe, or we pretend to be fairies who make all around them brighter and kinder, or we dream about conquering the world with our uncanny talents! We have an amazing and long life in front of us, and all our dreams will surely come true, as there’s an Angel sitting on our shoulder and drawing a book, book of our life...!

FRAGILE, AIRY, BUT QUITE CLEVER AND FULL OF DETERMINATION FOR HER AGE - A LITTLE GIRL WHO DREAMS ... NO, NOT TO CONQUER THE WORLD, ALTHOUGH SHE WOULD SUCCEED IN THIS, SHOULD SHE SET SUCH A GOAL! HER DREAM IS TO BRING SOMETHING REALLY NECESSARY TO THIS WORLD ... Daria is only 9 years old, but she is extremely inquisitive, friendly, open to everything new and interesting. Whilst already studying two languages - English and French, at such a young age, she plans to master at least two more, thanks to the diligence and unusual for children of the 21st century assiduity, she is making amazing progress in the linguistic “arena”! Despite the academic load, Daria manages to win Grand Prix, while professionally dancing in a team throughout Ukraine, she loves theater, painting and travelling, Daria understands that spiritual and aesthetic education is essential for young ladies. Inborn modesty, which our heroine is trying to overcome, has “whispered in her ear” to try herself as a model. Having already conquered the podium at Junior Fashion Week, her smile shines at our readers from the pages of the magazine so inspiredly and naturally, as if painted by Antonio Canaletto, having merged into these amazing, architectural landscapes of the Renaissance... They are sincerely happy about a new plush teddy bear, they kiss a so long-awaited puppy or kitten in their wet nose, honestly believing that it’s the peak of happiness. Their eyes glimmer from tears of joy when their father returns from only a two-week errand. Children feel and understand life in a totally different way, enjoying the little things. A tiny kid, only starting to walk, may react rapturously to his very own steps, and when he gets his first small victory in studying he’ll run home like he has wings so he can share the joy with his family... Lights on a christmas tree, a paper ship strolling through waves, a kite in the sky, a pile of snow, a warm after-rain puddle, sun on the green grass or piles of fallen leaves - these are exactly the things that kids consider happiness! They don’t think about why something happens,they don’t apply the laws of physics and chemistry, they just take the feelings and emotions, living though different situations with an open heart, while looking at the busy world , which they live in, through the prism of a childish happiness! THEN YOU CERTAINLY SHOULD GO THERE” - EVERY VISITOR AND RESIDENT OF KIEV PROBABLY HAS ALREADY HEARD SOMETHING LIKE THIS FROM HIS ACQUAINTANCES. THE “MUSEUM OF WATER” IS ACTUALLY CALLED “THE WATER INFORMATION CENTER”. IT APPEARED IN KIEV 16 YEARS AGO AND SOMEHOW IMMEDIATELY BECAME VERY POPULAR. WHAT IS THE SECRET OF SUCH AN INTEREST?

Two towers tower over Khreshchaty Park, to which you can climb from the European Square via a steep serpentine. This is the Water Information Center. In 1872 a water tower with a reservoir was built on this hill. From there water could flow with the help of gravity and into the city water supply networks. Back then, the length of these networks had been 24 kilometers, and currently it’s more than 3800 kilometers. The water was supplied to 147 houses of the Kiev nobility using one central pipe. Engineering facilities in Khreshchaty Park served as water towers, the residential building was a plumber house, and the fire tower stood there with a beautiful view of the central part of the city and its surroundings. The first water supply system in the capital is associated with the name of a talented military engineer Amand Struve, who founded the Kiev Water Supply Society. In 1869 the city authorities allocated the territory to this society, and it built the first water-lifting facilities at its own expense. According to the contract, the company had the right to own the water supply for 60 years, after which it became the property of Kiev. The price of water had also been negotiated. So, a barrel of water from the plumbing had cost 9 kopecks, a bucket - ¼ of a kopeck, and for a watering of livestock a penny was taken for each animal. In addition, four fountains with pools were built in the city, where the people of Kiev could take water for free. And for the needs of the city water pipes had taps installed onto them, one for every hundred fathoms (about 200 m), so that it could be possible to connect fire hoses. The plumbing had opened on March 1st, 1872. After commissioning of the internal

ACTUALITY combustion engine in 1932 the engineering structures ceased to function, and the water tower in a dilapidated state stood until 2003. Then the park was reconstructed, and a Water Information Center was created in the buildings of the first centralized water supply system. HERE

In the hall of the central building one exhibit reminds of the past: in the middle of a small hall there is a glass pipe in which water flows. In the 19th century through a similar pipe, but of course a metal one, water came from the tank of the water tower and to the centralized water supply system of the city of Kiev. And the main exposition of the Water Information Center is located below in a clean water reservoir underground. Information about water in a person’s life is presented here. But the way it’s presented! The waterfall rumbles here - you can put your hand under its stream. Geyser beats from under the water. And a glacier is melting at a little distance away. You can take a look into the cave with stalactites. And suddenly ... loud peals of thunder, and rain pours from the sky. So tell me, how else can one show all the forms of water states in nature in such a simple and interesting fashion? A sewage pipe with a diameter of human growth is an unusual design of the entrance to the next small hall, the exposition of which is devoted to the treatment of waste disposal. Along the bottom of the pipe, under the glass, sewage flows. Indeed, the picture is not pleasant ... According to the employee of the museum, even car tires can be found in our city sewers. And suddenly ... oh my god, rat! Fortunately, not real. Just an image on a special small screen. But they took the image of the inhabitant in a dungeon of the sewer system. The exhibit of the next hall also immediately attracts the eye. It is a great, old ... toilet. When visitors look at it, they all smile. There is not end to those want to be photographed next to this. This attribute of civilization is paid so much attention, because it turns out that in almost all countries of the world the largest amount of water consumed in everyday life is used to drain the toilet! And in the next room you can enter a huge water bubble. It’s a fact that for kids and adults, this “attraction” is a delight, so needless to say - those who want to stand for a second inside this rainbow miracle line up in a queue. Large aquariums with unusually beautiful fish are also a quite popular exhibit, the fish to the delight of children, are drawn to the hands.

However, the Center is not just a childrens entertainment complex. Visitors will discover lots of interesting information here: about the role of water in human life and the entire planet, and about water resources of different countries (special attention is paid, of course, to Ukraine), and about the history and technology of water supply and water purification, and also about very relevant environmental issues. And all this is served with the obligatory consideration of the age of visitors - from toddler to serious adult citizens. What is interesting, the information is clearly “catchy” for the latter. It happens that real discussions flare up near the stands. Many people think that we have a lot of water, as much as you want. Abroad people think otherwise. In Denmark daily water consumption per person is 120 liters, in Germany - 150-180 liters and in our country it’s 350 liters. But in fact, we have very little fresh water, and our clean water amount is vanishing quickly. For those who want to get more information the Center employees hold open-doors days. They invite specialists from various fields related to water in one way or another, and they answer visitors questions. On such days a lot of people come, there is a queue at the entrance. More than 1,800 people have attended one of these events. Visit the Water Information Center. You will not regret it! YAROSLAVA

"Ukrainian House in Jordan" Day of Unity of Ukraine 2018 on 22nd of January ukrainians all around the world celebrate the 100 year mark since Act Zluky (Unification act of UPR and WUPR). Celebration of the Day of Unity of Ukraine was held inside the Ukrainian embassy in Jordan, in which numerous representatives of ukrainian people as well as people of Jordan took part. Following the tradition, Sergey Pasko, Ukrainian Ambassador to Jordan, began the celebration with a speech, greeting the people of Ukraine with such a date. He told about the old times of when the act was signed, and he also underlined the importance of having the people united today. Ukrainian anthem was sung by the President of Ukrainian Culture Center “Ukrainian Household in Jordan” Olha Zavidnyak-Otum and by the talented pupil of the culture center Vlada Lagoda. After that a little celebration concert was presented to the audience. Famous ukrainian songs were sung by the “UA kids” collective, by Lora Otum and Vlada Lagoda. The performance of “Ukrainian Song Club” was accompanied with a violin solo by Galya Ajarmeh. Svetlana Salova performed as a guest with a “Odna Kalyna” song, and her amazing performance left no one unimpressed. Sofia Abu Kadum, Nadezhda and Diana Ajarmeh, young pupils of “Ukrainian Household” performed by reading their limericks, Victoria Abu Kadum, the lead of this celebration, performed
by reading her own patriotic poems. As the celebration came to its end, Olga Zavidnyak-Otum performed the song “Ukraino” accompanied by every participant of the concert. Korovay with salt was brought out to the public, so that every guest of the celebration could taste it. After the concert has come to its end, everyone present was invited to the banquet, where people could taste varenyky. The hostesses of ukrainian people, Galyna Grigorieva, Tetyana Sonets and Victoria Abu Kadum treated people with varenyky and pies with different fillings. It became a tradition to taste this symbolic treat during the Day of Unity of Ukraine. The love to this treat unites ukrainians and people who love Ukraine all over the world. It’s the Mini UA kids band, the youngest group in the choreography class in Ukrainian Culture Center “Ukrainian Household in Jordan”. Group director Nataliya Grigorieva is a ukrainian choreography teacher who has a big amount of experience, expresses a huge wish for the kids to achieve great results! She condones the love for creativity in kids, and they are confidently expanding in this department!
