• Draw and have fun with words with top author/illustrator Nick Sharratt – creator of the Shark in the Park, and Daisy books and renowned illustrator of Jacqueline Wilson’s Tracey Beaker series. Hear him read from his latest releases, Vikings in the Supermarket and Shark in the Park on a Windy Day (11.30am – 12.30pm; 2.30 – 3.30pm) • Laugh Your Socks Off! with award-winning Jeremy Strong, expert on silliness and hilarity, and author of more than 100 books for children (1 – 2pm) • Turn your favourite Barber characters into cartoons in our all-day drop-in comic art workshop! From fables and Greek myths to tales of the extraordinary and the everyday, songs have always been a supremely powerful way to tell stories. Pianist and presenter Dominic Harlan is joined by two singers for a thrilling, original and hands-on concert that includes music by Schubert, Rachmaninov, Brahms and Ives. Concert ticket-holders can enjoy a pre-concert drop-in craft session in the foyer. Suitable for adults and children aged 7+ years. Tickets: £5 adults, £3 children. Booking essential. By Car North East Car Park (off Pritchatts Road) is a five minute walk away. Charges apply Monday – Friday, 9.30 am – 4.30pm. Become an abstract artist! • Create a collection of abstract art using silkscreen printing, relief printing and tape work. Explore line, colour & shape, and be inspired by the colourful 20th-century art featured in our current exhibition Chance, Order, Change. • Day one – Focus on line while experimenting with washi and plastic tapes, and silk-screen printing. • Day two – Produce relief prints while exploring shape, composition and colour combinations.
