ANGER The Lord is full of loving favor and pity, slow to anger and great in loving-kindness. P : “You are a forgiving God. You are kind and loving, slow to anger, and full of loving-kindness.” N : For His anger lasts only a short time. But His favor is for life. Crying may last for a night, but joy comes with the new day. P : My Christian brothers, you know everyone should listen much and speak little. He should be slow to become angry. A man’s anger does not allow him to be right with God. J :– Do not be quick in spirit to be angry. For anger is in the heart of fools. E :
the BIBLE PROMISE BOOK 9
He who has a quick temper acts in a foolish way, and a man who makes sinful plans is hated. P : He who is slow to anger is better than the powerful. And he who rules his spirit is better than he who takes a city. P : A man with a bad temper starts fights, but he who is slow to anger quiets fighting. P : A man of anger starts fights, and a man with a bad temper is full of wrong-doing. P : Stop being angry. Turn away from fighting. Do not trouble yourself. It leads only to wrong-doing. P : Do not have anything to do with a man given to anger, or go with a man who has a bad temper. Or you might learn his ways and get yourself into a trap. P :– A gentle answer turns away anger, but a sharp word causes anger. P : 10 the BIBLE PROMISE BOOK
Fathers, do not be so hard on your children that they will give up trying to do what is right. C : If you are angry, do not let it become sin. Get over your anger before the day is finished. E : A man’s understanding makes him slow to anger. It is to his honor to forgive and forget a wrong done to him. P : It is better to live in a desert land than with a woman who argues and causes trouble. P : “But I tell you that whoever is angry with his brother will be guilty and have to suffer for his wrong-doing.” M : Put out of your life all these things: bad feelings about other people, anger, temper, loud talk, bad talk which hurts other people, and bad feelings which hurt other people. You must be kind to each other. Think of the other person. Forgive other people just as God forgave you because of Christ’s death on the cross. E :–
the BIBLE PROMISE BOOK 11
Christian brothers, never pay back someone for the bad he has done to you. Let the anger of God take care of the other person. The Holy Writings say, “I will pay back to them what they should get, says the Lord.” “If the one who hates you is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him water. If you do that, you will be making him more ashamed of himself.” Do not let sin have power over you. Let good have power over sin! R :– If the one who hates you is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him water. If you do that, you will be making him more ashamed of himself, and the Lord will pay you. P :– Put out of your life these things also: anger, bad temper, bad feelings toward others, talk that hurts people, speaking against God, and dirty talk. C :
CHARITY Happy is the man who cares for the poor. The Lord will save him in times of trouble. The Lord will keep him alive and safe. And he will be happy upon the earth. You will not give him over to the desire of those who hate him. P :– 12 the BIBLE PROMISE BOOK
He who shows kindness to a poor man gives to the Lord and He will pay him in return for his good act. P : “When you have a supper, ask poor people. Ask those who cannot walk and those who are blind. You will be happy if you do this. They cannot pay you back. You will get your reward when the people who are right with God are raised from the dead.” L :– “Sell what you have and give the money to poor people. Have money-bags for yourselves that will never wear out. These money-bags are riches in heaven that will always be there. No robber can take them and no bugs can eat them there.” L : He who hates his neighbor sins, but happy is he who shows loving favor to the poor. P : Throw your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days. E : He has given much to the poor. His right-standing with God lasts forever. His horn will be lifted high in honor. P : the BIBLE PROMISE BOOK 13
He who gives much will be honored, for he gives some of his food to the poor. P : “Give, and it will be given to you. You will have more than enough. It can be pushed down and shaken together and it will still run over as it is given to you. The way you give to others is the way you will receive in return.” L : He who gives to the poor will never want, but many bad things will happen to the man who shuts his eyes to the poor. P : Each man should give as he has decided in his heart. He should not give, wishing he could keep it. Or he should not give if he feels he has to give. God loves a man who gives because he wants to give. C : There is one who is free in giving, and yet he grows richer. And there is one who keeps what he should give, but he ends up needing more. The man who gives much will have much, and he who helps others will be helped himself. P :–
14 the BIBLE PROMISE BOOK
I have been young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the man who is right with God left alone, or his children begging for bread. All day long he is kind and lets others use what he has. And his children make him happy. P :– “And if you give what you have to the hungry, and fill the needs of those who suffer, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your darkness will be like the brightest time of day.” I : Tell those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money. Money cannot be trusted. They should put their trust in God. He gives us all we need for our happiness. Tell them to do good and be rich in good works. They should give much to those in need and be ready to share. T :– “Is it not a time to share your food with the hungry, and bring the poor man into your house who has no home of his own? Is it not a time to give clothes to the person you see who has no clothes, and a time not to hide yourself from your own family? Then your light will break out like the early morning, and you will soon be healed. Your right and good works will go before you. And the shininggreatness of the Lord will keep watch behind you.” I :– the BIBLE PROMISE BOOK 15
“And the Levite who has no share of what is given to you, and the stranger, and the child without parents, and the woman whose husband has died, who are in your towns, may come and eat and be filled. Then the Lord your God will bring good to you in all the work done by your hands.” D : Jesus looked at him with love and said, “There is one thing for you to do yet. Go and sell everything you have and give the money to poor people. You will have riches in heaven. Then come and follow Me.” M : “Be sure you do not do good things in front of others just to be seen by them. If you do, you have no pay from your Father in heaven. When you give to the poor, do not be as those who pretend to be someone they are not. They blow a horn in the places of worship and in the streets so people may respect them. For sure, I tell you, they have all the pay they are going to get. When you give, do not let your left hand know what your right hand gives. Your giving should be in secret. Then your Father Who sees in secret will pay you.” M :– “Then the King will say to those on His right side, ‘Come, you who have been called by My Father. Come into the holy nation that has been made ready for you before the world was made. For I was hungry and 16 the BIBLE PROMISE BOOK
you gave Me food to eat. I was thirsty and you gave Me water to drink. I was a stranger and you gave Me a room. I had no clothes and you gave Me clothes to wear. I was sick and you cared for Me. I was in prison and you came to see Me.’ Then those that are right with God will say, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You? When did we see You thirsty and give You a drink? When did we see You a stranger and give You a room? When did we see You had no clothes and we gave You clothes? And when did we see You sick or in prison and we came to You?’ Then the King will say, ‘For sure, I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of My brothers, you have done it to Me.’ ” M :–
CHILDREN “Put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and you and your family will be saved from the punishment of sin.” A : “This promise is to you and your children. It is to all people everywhere. It is to as many as the Lord our God will call.” A : “All your sons will be taught by the Lord, and the wellbeing of your children will be great.” I : the BIBLE PROMISE BOOK 17
“For I will pour water on the thirsty land and rivers on the dry ground. I will pour out My Spirit on your children, and will bring good to your children’s children.” I : Jesus saw this and was angry with the followers. He said, “Let the little children come to Me. Do not stop them. The holy nation of God is made up of ones like these. For sure, I tell you, whoever does not receive the holy nation of God as a little child does not go into it.” He took the children in His arms. He put His hands on them and prayed that good would come to them. M :– See, children are a gift from the Lord. The children born to us are our special pay. The children of a young man are like arrows in the hand of a soldier. Happy is the man who has many of them. They will not be put to shame when they speak in the gate with those who hate them. P :– Your wife will be like a vine with much fruit within your house. Your children will be like olive plants around your table. P :
