What Is Faith?

Read It!

Because Noah had faith, he built a large boat for his family. God told him what was going to happen. His faith made him hear God speak and he obeyed. His family was saved from death because he built the boat. . . . Noah became right with God because of his faith in God. H ebrews 11:7

Imagine someone telling you, “A giant flood is coming to cover all of Earth. I want you to build a huge boat to hold your family and two of every kind of animal.”

That’s what God told Noah to do. It seemed impossible, but because Noah trusted God, he did it!

Faith means putting all our trust in God, even when we don’t understand what He’s doing. The Bible tells us how God wants us to live. He wants us to believe that He knows what is best for each of us and that He will always help us with everything.

Dear God, it isn’t easy trusting in things I can’t see. So will You help me trust You more? You know everything! You know Pray It ! exactly how things will work out before they happen. That’s why I can have faith in You to work everything out for my good. . . .

Write It!

Make a list of the animals you think were on Noah’s ark. See if you can list one kind of animal for each letter of the alphabet. (Hint: You might need to do some research!)

Draw a creative design using the word FAITH.

Do It!

God shows He is faithful by always doing what He promises. Today, make a promise to someone. Then do what you promise. When you follow through on your promises, others will learn to have faith in you.

What did you learn from Hebrews 11:7?
