SHARING 2023
FEBRUARY 23, 2023 1:00 PM (PST)
Bull Guarantee
Advertisement
Unless otherwise noted, all the breeding age bulls will have passed a breeding soundness exam prior to pick up/delivery. In addition to the standard Terms and Conditions of the American Simmental Association, we will provide the first breeding season (the 90-day period immediately following turn out) guarantee on all yearling and older bulls. This guarantee is not an insurance or mortality policy, but a guarantee on functional fertility. It is not a substitute or replacement for poor management.
Buyer assumes all risks for injury due to running bulls together or management decisions outside genetic control. For the guarantee to apply, we ask that you contact us as soon as a condition is observed and before the animal is sold. We will work with you to determine whether the animal is returned or sold for slaughter. We will attempt to provide a suitable replacement. If one cannot be provided of equal or greater value, we will issue a sale credit to be used in a future sale for the full purchase price of a bull less the salvage value of the animal.
Liability
Neither owners nor sale management assume any liability for any accidents that may occur to the animal after it is sold. All persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk and owners or sale personnel assume no liability for accidents.
Boarding
Bulls will be wintered at no additional charge until March 1, 2023. Bulls will have passed a thorough breeding soundness exam prior to pick up/delivery. Since each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold, we strongly recommend a mortality insurance policy be taken out on any animal that is left to be wintered. Any bulls left past March 1, 2023 will incur a $3/Day feed charge.

On behalf of Bar CK and GB Marketing, we would like to welcome you to the 12th Annual Profit Sharing Bull sale, which will be held at the Winnemucca Convention Center on Thursday, February 23rd, 2023, in Winnemucca, Nevada at 1pm sharp.
It is no secret that Bar CK has been breeding cattle with one purpose and that purpose is to make sure that their customers are profitable. What has been a secret to most, unless they have made the trip to Culver, Oregon, is that unlike most numbered-up herds, when you actually lay your eyes on this herd of cattle you will find that you can have it all, in addition to the numbers. This means that you can have the good feet and legs, really good udders, and you can have it all in a moderate, attractive package. Trust me when I tell you that this is a good set of bulls, backed by an awesome set of cows.
Now let’s talk numbers… this is, without a doubt, the highest indexing herd in the country, not only for API but for TI as well. These are available in the IGS (International Genetics Solutions) database, which is a multi-breed database which has more than 22 million records. Needless to say, you can find bulls in this set that are calving ease, good for weaning weight, yearling weight, marbling, and maybe the most important, stay ability.
Many folks might ask why Winnemucca, Nevada? Simply put, the bulls have been developed there and instead of trucking back and forth, the decision was made to leave them there. This keeps the stress low for the bulls and is closer to a lot of the previous customers. We look forward to seeing you in Nevada!
Thank you,
We would like to thank Wade Small and family for their purchase of 150 bred Bar CK cows. The Smalls not only purchased Bar CK cows but also developed theses Bar CK bulls and heifers at their Sand Hills Feed lot in Winnemucca NV. Due to the drought and losing our irrigation water to the spotted frog in Central Oregon it was not feasible to develop them as we had in the past in Culver. Smalls have done an excellent job getting our bulls to look sharp and be in right shape to earn their keep in the harshest of breeding conditions. We look forward to collaborating with Wade and family in future sales.
1 Bar CK 317G 1041J
When I first stepped into the pen of bulls, 1041 was one of the first ones I put on the list. Really good feet & legs in a very smooth and soft package. Plus, he is good haired, tight sheathed, and just flat checks all the boxes. Then you add that he is a purebred, red carrier, heifer bull and good disposition, and you have a very unique creature. There is no doubt he will calve easy and raise replacement females for years to come. The Bar Ck crew believes enough in him that he has already been collected and used extensively not only on a big group of first calf heifers but on some of the best cows as well. Then you top it off with a great EPD profile and this bull will generate plenty of cash for the new owners.
