32 nd ANNUAL SIMMENTAL SHOW & SALE
3-14-20 10:00 AM
Wilson County Fairgrounds James E Ward Agricultural Center Lebanon, Tennessee
W E L C O M E The expo season across the south is an exciting time for the Simmental business. The south has some of the strongest gatherings of Simmental breeders coming out to exhibit and market their Simmental genetics, and the Tennessee Agribition and the Tennessee Simmental Association and the members of this sale should be proud to be one of the strongest breed sales at the Agribition for many years. The past sales have been strong however this year the Tennessee Association and the consignors have decided to raise the bar even higher. The junior membership has grown in numbers and the enthusiasm is high with a couple juniors giving back and consigning some of their best genetics. As many know already the TSA is hosting the Eastern Regionals in Cookville at MTSU. This is a great place to plan for the event, get involved and even purchase your heifer for the show. Study the catalog and make your selection. As you view the catalog you can see the offering maybe the strongest ever at the Agribition and this is the 32th year. If you look back thru the past year and look at the cattle that sold thru last years and what they have for their new owners sets a continues and strong track record for the sale. Also, in the junior show the next day many sale cattle and other cattle continued to do well through out the show season. If you have never been to this sale or haven’t been in few years then this a must attend. For some reason you can make it sale day please utilize the online bidding thru DV Auctions. In the past several years genetics from Tennessee have gone on to be successful in various herds as well as in the show ring. We would like to congratulate all the Tennessee members and programs that have much success in the show ring at the major shows such as the ASJA Regionals, Nationals, Sweepstakes, Kansas City, North American and the National Western. There are several special features however two that come to the top is the pick of flush from Martin Farms ASA 5390. These long time breeders are opening up their program. Secondly, Walker Housley purchased B&K Cream Soda out of the 2017 Agribtion. She already has produced a many time champion herd sire and they are offering semen rights and half interest. We have an outstanding set of frozen genetics to choose from as well as live lots such as breds, opens, and bulls that will work in numerous scenarios. Once again the Agribition is hosting an “Open to the World” junior heifer and steer show. The sale cattle will be eligible to compete in this event on Sunday. If you are a junior member coming to buy a show heifer, please talk to a Tennessee Simmental Association Board Member about their voucher and futurity programs. This is a great program and several breeders have stepped up to help the program. A few juniors will win continue to win money and it could be you. Check it out, again it is open to all juniors in all states. Don’t forget about the Eastern Regionals, get involved and be part of your association. The sale cattle will once again show on Friday afternoon beginning at twelve o’clock. We hope that you will stick around after the show to fellowship with consignors, TSA Board Members, and Simmental breeders. Don’t forget the annual meeting and awards program. The TSA continues to work hard and make the association stronger. Like always, if we can be of service to you, please do not hesitate to give a member of DP Sales or the sale staff a call. On behalf of the Tennessee Simmental Association and DP Sales Management, we invite you to spend the weekend with us and take in the Simmental festivities of the Tennessee Beef Agribition. Get involved in your state association and be part of the future sales at the Agribition. Watch for updates, sale order and videos on our web site and facebook.

• Opportunity to Flush Buyer’s Pick of the Cow Herd • If you look toward the time-tested programs to influence the direction of your herd, you should get excited about this consignment to the 2020 Agribition sale. Neil Martin began using Simmental bulls to artificially breed his herd of commercial cows in 1971. After seeing the first calf crop, the difference between the Simmental-sired calves and all the others convinced him to pursue a registered herd of Simmental. Neil sold the first breeding bull to represent the prefix in 1975 and has focused breeding decisions on the needs and priorities of commercial bull customers ever since. Receiving TSSA’s Pioneer Award in 2016, Neil was a pioneer in the evolution of the Simmental breed from the horned, red-and-white spotted cattle that first garnered his attention to one of the most relevant breeds in the commercial beef industry today. For those who were along for the ride, it took commitment to get this breed where it is today! The first black cattle to be added to the program were purchased in 1990, and one of those cows would become a cornerstone in building the program Martin Farms is today. • Martin Farms is offering the opportunity to flush buyer’s pick of the cow herd. Conventional flushes are scheduled for March 30 and April 13, and that work will be done at the farm by Dr. Ashley McDougal-Ingram. The bid is for the right to flush; buyer assumes all associated costs of the flush guarantee of six transferable embryos with an open top. All the embryos over 15 we will split between the buyer and seller. Martin Farms will be glad to assist in sire selection.Anyone interested in an opportunity to IVF should contact the seller prior to sale day. Get acquainted with the cow families and the females that are the future of Martin Farms, and keep up with updates to this opportunity that could change the direction of your own breeding program by visiting MartinFarmsBeef.com or liking us on Facebook. We welcome your calls or visits, and we look forward to getting to work with you on this exciting opportunity.

• Birth Wt. 74 lbs. • It’s so rewarding to see the results of generations of
females produce a heifer like this. Prima descends from Salley’s MoLegacy, a female we purchased from Mr. Salley in the Fall Sale. We have made many a trip to the Agribition with her descendants since that day. Prima is a direct daughter of the hot Angus Bull, Primo, and also goes back to One Eyed Jack. She is an easy keeping, deep sided, soggy girl and immediately catches your eye as soon as you walk in the pen. Unfortunately, the rainy winter didn’t allow us to get a picture by catalog time. Make sure to check her out on sale day.

• G272 is a female that we held back all winter so we
could bring her to the Agribition. Without a doubt, this heifer was our late bloomer last year. We actually intended on keeping her to replace her mother, but she continued to improve each month after weaning to the point that we decided to give someone else the chance to own her. This is the type of female that we wish we had 100 of - she is moderate, robust in her design, and is plenty pretty enough through her front end. It is easy to mate females like G272 because most any bull will work on her. Come check her out sale day!

we’ve offered for your appraisal. We at Sunset Oaks have worked years and put in endless hours of dedication to produce a female of this caliber! Here is heifer that is so attractive from the side and has that natural softness about her that catches your attention with a glance! SO Shiloh 14G is a deep bodied, massive centered individual that has that sought after natural sweep to her lower rib and ties brood cow potential into a show ring package! One that we think is an absolute clone of her mother that we bought from SO Shiloh 14G Rincker Simmentals that was a reserve division champion herself at the Dixie Nationals and is a direct daughter of the infamous Dixie Erica donor that has contributed great genetics and generated high sellers for several operations across the country! But she doesn’t only have maternal power! Her sire CDI Innovator 325D claimed a purple banner in Denver a few years back and has done an outstanding job for Wayward Hill Farms and JS Simmentals. If you want to get in on one that could do some thumping at the Eastern Regionals this year in Tennessee, here is one for you to tie to! She’s just the functional type of cattle that not only is being selected in the ring, but is the kind of cattle that make you money! When we say she’s the best we’ve ever raised, she’s the BEST we’ve ever raised!

when we get a special heifer like S7F it reconfirms our decision. S7F is a STOUT beast. Huge topped and big boned, but still has that Alley front end and look that catches your eye right away. S7F has made friends all summer and fall and we’re proud to offer her this yeah in TN. • AI’d to Deplorabull, ASA#3150188 on 1/23/20

On her dam’s side you will find Uno Mas and the great Angus bull Right Time. Two very influential bulls in their respective breeds. She is a 3/4 Simmental and could be used to produce purebreds or make some very good 1/2 bloods. She will be a front pasture female for many years to come, plus she has a great disposition for a junior to show as a senior yearling. • AI’d to DMCC/Wood Fully Loaded, ASA#3131823 on 12/14/19. capacity on a wide base. This stout female is on a sound structure. There is little doubt in my mind with track record of the Ebonys Joy line, Undeniable will be an awesome and big time brood cow. We purchased her dam from Clearwater Simmentals. 952F has been AI to the Hicks bull, Relentless for a exciting calf to look forward to this fall. This one after calving could be enrolled in your donor program. What ever you decide for your program, she will be profitable. 952F is homozygous polled. • AI’d to W/C Relentless, ASA#3045559 on 12/14/19

• SO Sharp Dressed Man has a growing legacy here at the Tennessee Agribition, with
the purchase of his mother, B&K Cream Soda 8D, here just three short years ago as the high seller from B&K Farms. We were ecstatic to add her to the show string and donor pen and you can see why! She went on to be a many time champion, winning the Agribition, Dixie Nationals, placing 9th overall at the Eastern Regionals, 17th overall at the National Classic, Grand Champion Purebred Cow/Calf Pair at the North American, and a list of many other championships under her belt! And her first son follows in her footsteps being named Reserve Purebred Bull at the 2019 Eastern Regionals, 5th overall Purebred Bull at the National Classic, and being a member of the Grand Champion Purebred Cow/Calf Pair on the green shavings! Not only is he proven in the
B&K Cream Soda 8D - ref. dam
ring, but he’s proven to succeed in production with the long list of outstanding, breed changing cows in his pedigree! With just a glance at his pedigree, you can see how he combines two major cow families that go back to the Hudson Pines program, RP/MP Right to Love 015U and IC Cream Soda R56. If that alone doesn’t get you excited, I don’t know what will! Then with just a glance he hits you with an amazing profile! The rocket fronted, long necked, bold sprung, deep centered, heavy structured bull hits the ground right on all four wheels and gets out and covers his tracks with more reach off both ends of his skeleton! Now you may be saying, a bull so good looking with such a great pedigree can’t possibly be good numbered! And that’s where you’re wrong, he combines all three into a Purebred package! Last time I checked that’s pretty dang rare! So get in while the getting is good! Selling 1/2 semen interest and 1/2 possession with the seller retaining all show rights. Willing to negotiate on possession intervals.

• Birth Wt. 82 lbs. • This Declaration son quickly climbed to the top of our bull crop this
past year. Heavy structured from the beginning, we admired his skeletal dimension and rapid early growth. He’s practical in his build, and functional on his feet and legs. We expect his genetic merit in terms of Weaning Weight and Yearling Weight to impact the profit potential of future calf crops. His maternal granddam was the Grand Champion % Simmental Heifer at the 2014 Ohio State Fair, and has continued to prove her worth through the productivity of her daughters. Genetic indicators and EPDs lead us to believe both bull and heifer progeny will have a positive economic impact.

wagon,he has power and performance for the commercial breeders but the look and breeding backed pedigree for the registered operations. This baldy bull is long and leveled about his hip, flexible and sound in his build, with plenty of style to show but masculine in his maturity. Make sure you to pull the trigger on him at Agribition.
