Public Service Annoucement Don’t Be Bullied
If you are involved in an Auto Accident, don’t let anyone force you to have your vehicle towed to THEIR body shop. Under Wisconsin State Law you have the right to have your vehicle towed to the body shop or location of your choice. You or your insurance company will be paying for the tow, so why not tow it to the location of your choice? Most insurance companies allow up to a 50 mile tow.
JUST SAY NO , I WANT MY VEHICLE TOWED TO...
Some companies will charge an outrageous tow fee for starters, charge you an automatic 2 day storage fee, PLUS other miscellaneous charges, but will reduce those charges if you do the body work at their shop. It’s a sure way to force you to do business with them. The tow company will say they have to tow it to their shop. THEY HAVE NO RIGHT TO DO SO (Unless it’s under a police impound order). If they insist on towing your vehicle to their body shop They Are Actually Stealing Your Vehicle and you will pay dearly. (A reputable Tow Company will ask you where you want your vehicled towed). You have a choice to where your vehicle is towed to. Don’t be railroaded into believing you don’t. Have your vehicle towed directly to the location or body shop of your choice (if available). Under Wisconsin Law you have that right. Just call a lawyer!
