Selecting a season and some potential dates for your wedding will be helpful as you start to engage with venues and try to lock in a save-the-date. Keep in mind that the season you choose has bearing on what the rest of your wedding will look like. As you finalize the time of year, also consider weather constraints. Ask questions, such as, what on-site plans does the venue have in case of rain? If the wedding is during the day, what additional installations are allowed on site?

Once you ’ ve picked a date, the second thing that you want to be thinking about is how much can you afford to spend. It is important to recognize that venues with in-house catering, like hotels and resorts, will charge a price per plate, in addition to the venue fee.
TIP: When you ’ re working with a limited budget, you may want to select a venue that approves external catering and already offers a similar look to your desired wedding style. If the venue does not already have your preferred aesthetic, trying to totally transform the venue will also drive up the cost.

How many people are you planning to host? Answer this by preparing your guest list, not forgetting to take into account, the people who will play major roles during the wedding. Conclude on the guest count before hunting for venues. Have in mind that the maximum capacity of a room isn ’t always the comfortable point. Make sure to ask how many people the space can comfortably seat and what’ s allowed.
Equally important to consider are the logistical requirements so don ’t forget to consider other installations that may eat into the space. Examples would be the dance floor, a place for the projector, an area for the live band, and the like.

Start by creating the perfect mood board. A wedding mood board is a carefully curated collection of photos that convey your wedding vision -the look, essence, and feeling you are hoping to create through your design.
Choose a venue that aligns with your vision. It is important to seek out venues that fit the aesthetic that you ’ re working with. As a rule of thumb, both the ceremony and reception sites should share one, cohesive look.
TIP: If you ’ re planning a dreamy, yet modern wedding, consider an upscale hotel ballroom or well-designed restaurant spaces. On the flipside, if you ’ re planning a rustic wedding with lots of natural earthy tones, consider outdoor venues with beautiful wooden elements.

Ultimately, there are three points you need to consider here: your dress-up location, the ceremony site and the reception site. It is important to think about how comfortable your guests will be and answering these questions can help you decide which venue will be the best for you:
Will the ceremony and reception be held in the same place? If not, how far are they from each other? How easy is it to get to? What is the walking or driving distance from the ceremony site to the reception site and from the reception site to the after-party? As you think about these things, also consider the road network and make sure that are easily connected to public transport.
That’s it! Once you have these 5 things finalized, it’s time to conduct site visits.

I am a firm believer that duration does not equate positive results. We do not need to be working out for hours at a time in order to heal past injuries, or to become incredibly fit.
