BARN ON THE POND HO US E TO UR/ WELCOME! Closing th e b ar n’s fron t a nd ba c k doors requires you to pull up and lock them into place. When locking up, if this has not been done, the doors will not bolt. Notice the light swit ch pan els to the right of the front door as you walk in and to the left of the back door. Also, notice the light switch on the lower baluster at the stairs, which controls the light over the stairs. To the left of the TV, you have an i Pod doc king st a tion, c able, DV D pl a y e r a nd landline. Note that sometimes there is a long delay before the cable comes on after turning it on. The wifi network is “trippidy”. No password required. Many people miss that the r ed c h air s in front of the television swivel and recline. If you choose to use the fold out bed in th e solarium, there are linens in the lower left cabinet of the entertainment system. On all the window sh ade s, the right chord adjusts the bottom and the right chord adjusts the top of the shade. All the bedrooms and bathrooms, including the solarium, have separate th e rmos t a t s. The entire home is heated by radiant heat, so adjustments in temperature can take a while. We discourage the use of flame c a ndles, but have provided LED candles, including the ones on the fireplace mantle, which have chargers in the chest of drawers in the great room. We have provided t able cloths of varying sizes in the chest of drawers in the great room. The fi r epla c e is controlled by remote control on the mantle and has about a 10-15 second delay after activation by remote. THE F IR E P L AC E G L ASS G ETS V ERY HOT, so be careful in its vicinity. The Big Ass F a n’s con t rols are to the left of the back door on that light switch panel. We supply a P C c omput er in the kitchen for your use. If you have any questions regarding any of the G E applian c e s, there is a folder on that PC’s desktop with Owner’s Manual pdf files. Smoking is allowed outside and we provide ashtrays in the drawer to the left of the refrigerator plus butt cans outside. Also in that drawer is a complimentary G PS s y s t em, which helps if you do not know the area. Appliances above the refrigerator include a co f f e e pot, to a s t e r a nd w at e r brewer. If you entertain, there is an extra set of silverware there as well. W a s h e r /dry e r provided by downstairs bathroom.


Ironing board and iron provided in the laundry room. BBQ charcoal and chimney provided in the laundry room. E x t r a s to r age /mud room for guests and clothing provided by downstairs bathroom. Hairdry e r provided in the lower drawer of the lower bathroom sink drawers. Bug spr a y and wipes provided in downstairs bathroom medicine cabinet. Towels are stored under the teak bench in the downstairs bathroom. Extras are in the laundry room. There are two dispos als. One is magnetically activated by the stopper, the other by switch. Di shw a sh e r con t rol pa n els are on top of the open door. No heat dry is much better for spots with our water. Di sh ma t provided under the sink. FIRST A I D A N D FIR E E XT IN GU ISHER P RO VID E D U N D E R S IN K # 2. The hole in the island countertop is for food scraps, ga rbage and anything nonrecyclable. There are 3 other bins down below the counter for recyclables that pull out. Sorting recyclables unnecessary. Garbage and recycling bin for city pick up are the green ones located behind the house by the BBQ. SOAP AND WATER ONLY FOR CL E A N IN G THE COUNT ERTO PS. SINK #2 also functions as a wet bar for us. Help our local wine store by leaving your wine corks. They recycle for various nonprofit causes. For c ro s s bre ez e on warmer days, we recommend opening the screened window above sink #2 and the screened door pond side to keep the insects out. Downstairs bedroom has a tr undle pull out. Pillow in the night stand. Downstairs bedroom closet has e x t r a bla n k e t s , pillows, twin sh e e t s, fold out chairs and t able le a ve s to both the round table downstairs and the small table up in the loft. The downstairs bedroom door has a locking mechanism to the left inside. To pull the M u rphy down i f it is folded up, un fold th e legs be fo r e bringing the bed to a 90 degre e a ngle. The hinges will bre a k ot h e rwise. Cabinet outside the upstairs bathroom has e x t r a s h e e t s, towels a nd toilet paper. Master suite bed has storage inside for e x t r a s he e t s, pillow and blan k e t s. There is a leather strap at the end of the bed for pulling it up and open.

We kindly request that you place all used linens and towels on the laundry room floor and used dishes and silverware in either of the two dishwashers before your departure.


TH E GROUNDS Two nine-foot tables are supplied for entertaining outside downstairs on the deck and two upstairs by the fireplace. Tablecloths supplied in chest of drawers downstairs. If you use the fireplace in the outdoor room, leave the glass doors open. A light switch turns the gas on and off. FIRE PIT: If you build a fire, use wood from behind the Airstream or forest shed. The wood closest to the pit has not dryed yet. Tiki’s are provided for cintronella torch fuel for mosquito resistance. There are more in the garden shed by the pit. AIRSTREAM: You are welcome to camp out in the Airstream. Green sheets are on the shelves by the bed. The main couch folds out into a bed as well. There is no plumbing in the Airstream. The trailer’s door is very finicky at times and takes much effort to open, but we leave it unlocked. FOREST/FLOATING BED: We were hit hard by Irene and our wooded area was nearly decimated, but you can still gain access to the Floating Bed. If you choose to camp out, please bring the sheets back to the laundry room upon your departure. The outer cover folds all the way back if it is warm and there is a mosquito net underneath for open air lounging.
