URBAN HISTORY - BUON MA THUOT, VIETNAM
Buon Ma Thuott is the capital of Dak Lak province and the largest city in Vietnam's Central Highlands. The city is split into three sections: the center zone, the near-central zone, and the inner-periphery. This is not only the political, economic, and social hub of Dak Lak province, but also the primary city in the Central Highlands area, with a critical strategic role in the region's and the country's security.

Buon Ma Thuot expanded from a small town in 1975 to a city in 1995 (urban grade 3), and after ten years of building, the Prime Minister (2005) acknowledged Buon Ma Thuot city as a grade 2 city, which has since been elevated to a grade 1 urban center directly under Dak Lak province (2010).
As a significant tourist attraction in Dak Lak, it attracts a large number of visitors each year due to its untamed appeal and beautiful mountain landscape. I'd like to provide some facts on the history of this location, as well as my study of it, in this post.
