Boom Dancing Center Aarhus, Denmark 9 September 1967 ‘The DJ was playing when Pink Floyd suddenly came on stage and started to play but their microphones did not work so there was no vocals for the whole concert. It didn’t make a difference because what we saw and heard was marvellous. I was standing at the front but couldn’t move so could only take pictures of Syd Barrett and Nick Mason. After the concert Syd Barrett said “Why do the audience scream so much? Why don’t they clap?”’ – Nils Aarestrup Roddik (Photographer)

Letters
Above: Envelope for letter sent from Syd to Libby Gausden-Chisman 29 April 196
Opposite: Letter to Jenny Spires May 196 Syd writes about The Tridents; a band that Pink Floyd had just supported and who Syd thought was ‘...the best group in the world except for the Stones and Beatles’. Syd has drawn the drummer, Ray Cook, as well as Jeff Beck who played with the band shortly before joining The Yardbirds. Interestingly enough The Tridents also played ‘I’m a King Bee’ in their live sets.
