The article traces through different ways of producing abstract Art. Some was created from vivid mental images; some was produced by accessing the preconscious mind. Cubism, the simultaneous presentation of many aspects of a solid from many angles, is seen as being analytical rather than abstract, and left for another time. The article goes on to propose that images selected carefully from arbitrary, magnified photographic images of natural forms is a valid way of creating abstract Art. It presents a number of examples: and asks whether these are valid as Natural Abstract Photographic Art.
