About the Book:
Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand tells the true story of Louis Zamperini, a WWII airman and former US Olympic distance runner. After the crash of his B-24, Zamperini floated through the Pacific in a tiny life raft, ultimately traveling 2,000 miles before being captured and enduring Japanese prison camps for two years.
Library Renovation In March, 2012, Barrington Area Library trustees unanimously voted to move forward on plans to renovate the 33-year-old library facility. The board felt this was the best option for preserving the library building as an important community asset while remaining fiscally responsible, avoiding a large-scale, referendum-funded project. As this newsletter goes to print, the project is still in the design review phase, with construction work possibly beginning in Summer of 2013. We encourage you to learn more about the renovation project on our Web site: balibrary.org/library-renovation.html We look forward to serving you in a more efficient, comfortable, user-friendly library building.
