Straight launches flagship system The new BagFlag™ is an innovative way for collection crews to correctly identify which properties require replacement liners for their kitchen caddies; residents simply flip up the flexible yellow flag on the caddy handle to request more liners. BagFlag™ has been developed by Straight in conjunction with Neath Port Talbot Council for its new food waste scheme. Neath will roll out Straight’s 23-litre Kerbside Caddy and five-litre Solid Kitchen Caddy this autumn to more than 10,000 homes on a trial scheme. www.straight.co.uk Calling time Premier Waste Management has launched a glass recycling collection for pubs and clubs to stem the tide of the 600,000 tonnes of glass thrown away and not recycled by the industry every year in the UK. The service has been designed with busy bars in mind; unlike with other services, the colours of glass don’t need to be separated; Premier collects all mixed glass to be recycled and sorts it itself. www.premierwaste.com
