rediscovering nature
by embracing local climate This city spa embraces its climatic environment to find nature in an urban setting. The main hurdle was achieving optimal openness to airflow
the elements of nature while ensuring privacy. Climatic analyses were used to shape its mass, demonstrating the value of climate as a ‘lost’ context

solar massing
Angles of the sun become parameters for a responsive roof. Its shape allows sunlight to enter while blocking views from neighboring buildings.

Our design breathes creativity and interaction in its various places to work, meet, relax and connect. This is enhanced by an industrial, bright colored look and an open floorplan. As a co-leading architect I was responsible for every aspect of the design including technical elaboration, budgeting and overseeing construction.
olive garden > internship ARX China, 2015 > Rhino, Grasshopper, Ai
Stationed in Shanghai I worked on designing & scripting a complex engraved floor in the Shanghai Tower. I was also involved in technical elaboration, drafting and overseeing construction.

‘Using sun, wind & rain to shape a facade’ Out of this idea an aerodynamic envelope was created that uses climatic influences to its advantage. In this way, climate became a main influence to the architecture.

On a small deserted island in the Venice laguna, the ruin of an old warehouse is the decor for a new holiday retreat. Inspiration for the design came from experimenting with materials and production techniques.
