Fiddler on the Roof – Lyric Opera of Chicago
Ages 21+
One of the world’s leading opera directors, Barrie Kosky, is celebrated with his production of “Fiddler on the Roof,” which is a Tony Award-winning masterpiece. Experience a performance like no other, with the full power of the Lyric Opera Orchestra and a production that is both grand in scale and intimate in its power to bring you directly into the heart of the village of Anatevka. Join us as Tevye, his wife, Golde, and their five daughters experience the joys and sorrows that have made this meaningful work an enduring part of our culture. Meet at the Geneva train station to catch the 10:30 am train (train ticket price not included in fee) in to the Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch on your own. Show begins at 2:00 pm. Trip fee includes show ticket price only. Registration deadline is 09/08.

Enjoy a day trip to beautiful Lake Geneva to enjoy the hues of the fall foliage. A two-hour luncheon boat ride on the Grand Belle will not disappoint! We will have time for shopping, and don’t forget the Ice Cream Shop. Lunch will be smothered chopped steak. Trip fee includes transportation, boat ride and lunch. Registration deadline is 10/06.
Stained Glass Blowing & Lunch – Patterson Glass Studio, Mundelein

Join us as we head out to Patterson Glass Studio where we will have a private stained glass-blowing demonstration by Peter Patterson. This two-hour demo event consists of a studio tour, background on Peter, demonstration of various pieces he’ll make right before your eyes and, of course, some shopping. Please wear long sleeves, long pants and closed-toed shoes. After our time at the studio, we will enjoy a late lunch at Gale Street Inn where you can order off the menu and pay on your own. Trip fee includes transportation and admission to the studio. Registration deadline is 08/22.

Other accompaniments include award-winning coleslaw and fresh rye bread, sweet red potatoes and onions that are boiled in the pots with the fish. Murder on the Orient Express - Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace

Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The next morning, an American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed a dozen times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on famed detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderers before they strike again. The play adaptation of Agatha Christie’s famous murder mystery first premiered in 2017, and the 1974 film adaptation received six Academy Award nominations, winning one.
