INSPIRED APPROACH TO DESIGN In addition to our own highly-accomplished in-house design team, we also collaborate closely with a world-class team of independent designers, each with their own creative instinct and flair for bathroom aesthetics and functionality.

INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION Our strong relationships with designers around the world have enabled us to push the creative boundaries of bathroom design. A key example of this is our collaborative work with German design studio NOA, which resulted in the highly popular T4 and M-Line collections.

ROSS LOVEGROVE One of the most fascinating designers of the 21st century and recipient of countless awards, Ross Lovegrove creates sculptural and organic shapes using sophisticated technology and materials. His design concept ‘organic essentialism’ is inspired by elements from the natural world which are then reshaped into futuristic forms, beautifully portrayed in the Istanbul range.

NOA

The German design studio NOA specialises in designing new products, technologies and communication strategies. NOA’s fruitful collaboration with VitrA has created many ranges including the M-Line and T4 collections.

MATTEO THUN & PARTNERS Milan-based Matteo Thun & Partners is a studio of architecture, design and communication that refuses to be categorised in stylistic terms. The Water Jewels range including the metallic finish basins bring a sense of dramatic and endless originality.

As Europe’s leading company for holistic design and brand innovations, Indeed creates compelling designs and powerful brand experiences. VitrA’s high-tech and sophisticated T4 brassware collection was developed by Indeed.

CHRISTOPHE PILLET Based in France, Christophe Pillet’s name is synonymous with stylish, functional and natural design – the lightness of touch in his work is elegance epitomised. His perfect command of sensuality and refinement has made him one of the most renowned French designers to have gained global recognition. The Memoria range is one example of his commitment to creating beautiful, elegant bathroom products.

SEBASTIAN CONRAN With design in his blood, Sebastian has been designing stylish and innovative homeware for over 40 years. Based in his West London studio-workshop, he is intimately involved in all aspects of the design process; sharing his discerning eye, wealth of experience and manufacturing expertise in his collaboration with VitrA. The Eternity accessory range by Sebastian Conran incorporates the use of teak wood, chrome and soft gold finishes to create a range as beautiful in form as it is in function.

VitrA’s rich heritage can be traced back to 1909, when renowned Turkish pharmacist Süleyman Ferit Eczacibaşi began producing bathing and cologne products at his pharmacy in Izmir.

VitrA’s Innovation Centre – where all the magic happens, from the conception, development and realisation of original ideas and designs, to the innovation, planning and production of new technology and materials.

The business continued to grow steadily, and by 1952 he had opened Turkey’s first modern pharmaceutical plant. Three decades later, his son, Dr Nejat Eczacibaşi, took the family business a step further by establishing a pharmaceutical laboratory in Istanbul. VITRA INFINIT Bathroom products made from mineral cast are distinguishable by the thinner profile edges and clean lines.

CERAFINE

A material manufactured by using a combination of natural stone powder and a polyester resin, mineral cast produces a beautiful finish which is warm to the touch and easy to clean, it can also be used to create basins in a wide range of shapes and sizes.

A ceramic based formula enabling the creation of basin designs with thin, defined edges and organic shapes. The Outline range can be found on page 40.

Mineral cast is a hard-wearing material with the added benefit of being invisibly repairable in the unlikely event of the basin becoming damaged.

METALLIC FINISH Water Jewels is a unique range of basins designed by Matteo Thun for VitrA, see the full collection on page 44. Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) is a state-of-the-art manufacturing process in which metal powders are vaporised and deposited onto a surface. The metallic coating presents a striking visual and remains corrosion and scratch resistant. The range is available in gold, copper and platinum as well as the traditional white ceramic.

VITRA CLEAN VitrA Clean is a surface finish that makes VitrA sanitaryware products incredibly easy to care for. This special glazing process increases surface tension so the water flows easily from the surface. All that’s needed to keep the basins clean is a wipe with a damp cloth and the use of a mild cleanser, making cleaning easier and helping to keep your bathroom looking its best. VitrA Clean finish is on a variety of basins including the new Outline range.

VitrA’s rimless WC pan technology removes one of the most unhygienic aspects of traditional WC design, where hard-to-clean rims can harbour germs and allow them to multiply unchecked. The unique design of our Rim-ex pans incorporates a water diverter to direct the flush around the bowl, which can be removed easily for cleaning. Rim-ex is 95% more hygienic than standard WC pans.* * Tests undertaken by the Akdeniz University, Turkey show VitrA Rim-ex WC pans are easier to clean and 95% more hygienic compared to standard WC pans.

VitrA Fresh prevents the need to add cleaning agents to the cistern, which can corrode the flushing mechanism. VitrA Fresh is currently only available in WCs in the M-Line series.

FISCHER This system enables wall-hung pans to be positioned onto the bolts in the wall and secured using an allen key from underneath, or through the holes for the seat. Under the guidance of effective waste treatment methods implemented by the Eczacıbaşı Building Products Division, in 2017 optimal purifying technologies were developed to recover water. Today VitrA, part of the Building Products Division, consume 35% less water of production output. Temperatures of the ceramic kilns were also readjusted in the VitrA plant, reducing energy consumption by 15%. The same responsibility for natural resource conservation guides the group in the development of products for both residential and public use. So you know choosing a VitrA product means you are contributing to saving the worlds natural resources.

BLUE LIFE A PLEDGE TO THE FUTURE

Blue Life is the production approach, design, attitude and management outlook of all Eczacıbaşı Building Products Division brands including VitrA.

• Blue Life means reducing the use of non-renewable

resources in the production process. • Blue Life means developing products that promote power

and resource conservation at the end-user level driven by a concern for the environment and for our collective future.

For example, the 2.5/4 litre WC pan has been certified by the German LGA Institute and reduces water use by up to 60% compared to the single flush. With VitrA’s brassware equipped with an adjusting pin, special ceramic cartridges can be set to limit the amount of water released creating savings of up to 60%. Finally, thermostatic bathtubs and shower mixers save water and power by eliminating the need to adjust hot and cold water until the desired temperature is achieved, ensuring reliable water flow temperatures.

V-care offers hands-free WC usage and with the Comfort model the seat cover opens automatically when you approach. You can simply start the integrated shower function with the touch of a button while you sit comfortably on the WC. The washing and drying options are also controlled by the remote.

The seat, designed with an ergonomic shape for optimum comfort, comes complete with remote-controlled seat temperature adjustment.

SIMPLE TO OPERATE V-care can be used via remote control and has a very simple, intuitive user interface. The basic functions of the WC can also be controlled via the left and right side of the toilet itself.

EASY-TO-CLEAN WC With no awkward rim to negotiate in the inner bowl and concealed fixings, the V-care WC is very easy-to-clean. Rim-ex technology disposes with the rim inside the WC, enabling cleaning of the inner bowl with a single wipe.

SHOWER SYSTEMS The shower is an important element in any bathroom and it is probably one of the hardest working elements of a bathroom design. Shower systems will refresh and revitalise and with the choice of designs, there is a shower system perfect for your bathroom. The V-Box system is new to VitrA and offers both thermostatic and non thermostatic options in a choice of four different ranges. The minibox system offers non-thermostatic options available in a range of brassware styles. Concealed behind the wall, these shower systems create a beautiful, contemporary look in any bathroom. VitrA’s shower systems include a collection of hand showers with and without side rails, beautiful showerheads and shower columns all with the design credentials synonymous with the VitrA brand. Choosing a shower system is one of the most important aspects of the bathroom design especially given the range of overhead and handshower styles to choose from.

V-BOX

V-Box, by VitrA, is the new generation of standard and thermostatic shower solutions for concealed bath and shower mixers enabling up to three water outlets (bath spout, overhead shower or handshower). The shower valve (see below) controls the flow of water, similar to the tap on a basin. By concealing the shower valve behind the wall, this creates more space under the shower head making cleaning easier. V-Box can be trimmed down to fit behind the wall. With a minimum wall depth (including wall covering) of 110mm, you do not lose valuable room space with V-Box. For the visible (exposed) part of the shower solution there is a choice of four styles; each with a full range of matching basin and bath fillers. V-Box also offers a choice of thermostatic and standard shower valves. Thermostatic shower valves are designed to maintain the temperature of the water, preventing fluctuations in the water temperature. This is an important consideration for families where extremes in water temperature can be dangerous.

There is also a choice of standard shower values but these do not regulate the water temperature, so if someone turns on a tap elsewhere in the house the water from the shower may run too hot or too cold. Diverters enable the flow of water to be switched from one outlet to another, for example to the shower head or handshower. V-Box diverters allow for 3-way outlets; bath spout, overhead shower and handshower. WATER OUTLET OPTIONS 1-way: shower mixer, with adjustable water temperature control 2-way: water can be diverted to two of the following options: showerhead, handshower, bath. Water temperature can be adjusted using one controller. Hot and cold water feed separately into the concealed valve. 3-way: using a diverter the water can be directed to either the bath, shower head or handshower.

The water inlet pipes are fitted as shown above. This ensures the V-Box is mounted correctly and tightly to prevent leaks. There are also multiple fixing points.

Once the water inlet pipes are connected and cleaned, the box is fitted to the wall using the multiple fixing points. The special design enables easy mounting on gypsum plate walls.

After connecting the water feeds the special V-Box design also allows for any debris that may have accumulated from the installation process to be flushed out.

To further protect the mechanism from humidity within the bathroom environment an insulating mattress is fitted. Additional sealing cuff protects the wall from humidity.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT SHOWER SYSTEM WITH V-BOX Whether you are looking for a square or round contemporary design, there is a range suitable for any bathroom setting. After the tiling is completed the front of the box is trimmed to the correct depth and the appropriate brassware is then fitted.

V-Box can be used with brassware, enabling one, two or three-way outlets. Within the compatible ranges there are bath mixers and bath/shower mixers (including thermostatic) and diverters. V-Box can be used with Suit, Nest, Minimax S and X-Line exposed parts, providing choice for consumers. All exposed parts, including the handles are made of metal.

Keeping a bathroom clean is so much easier with a wall-hung WC. All pipework, usually a haven for dust, is completely concealed, and with the WC pan fixed above the floor, it’s so much easier to keep the floor clean.

Not only is the cistern concealed behind a wall, but it’s also manufactured with a specially-engineered fill valve, and lined with insulating styrofoam to keep filling noise to an absolute minimum.

The flush plate can be removed easily, providing easy access to internal fittings. Flush plates have a 5-year guarantee.

An overflow pipe located within the valve acts as a safety device. Overflow pipes are tested to ensure they can cope even in high water pressure areas.

Wall-hung WC pans and their concealed frames are designed to be able to support up to 400kg.

Every cistern we manufacture is individually tested to ensure it is 100% watertight.

A wall-hung WC takes up less room than a conventional WC, providing greater flexibility where space is at a premium. In addition, the tidier arrangement, with more available floor space, also creates the impression of a larger bathroom.

An intuitive design makes installation quick and easy – a real advantage, particularly when carrying out multiple installations.

The dual-flush action for both the slim and the regular wall-hung frame operates at 2.5/4 litre or 3/6 litre, resulting in as much as 70% reduced water consumption, benefiting both you and the environment.

INTERMEDIARY HOSE

The flush plate operates the cistern. It enables easy operation of the wall-hung frame and covers internal parts that remain in the wall.

The intermediary hose that connects to the water piping inside the cistern can isolate the water flow during service-oriented interventions, which enables easy replacement of parts.

PANEL GAP

The panel gap on the body is designed to provide optimum opening space for maintenance of filling or flushing units, enabling easy access to the cistern. The size of this gap is very important for servicing purposes.

The filling and flushing valves are located in this part of the cistern. Produced from polyethylene (HDPE) raw materials, it offers more safety with its flexibility and resilience.

FILLING VALVE

The filling valve is the system that fills the cistern with water. The filling valve is checked in VitrA labs for “water-tightness” via accelerated life testing 200,000 times. The filters above the filling valve eliminate the risk of clogging, ensuring durability and a long lifetime. New VitrA filling systems ensure fast and silent filling.

FLUSHING VALVE

The flushing valve transfers the water in the cistern to the WC pan for flushing. For correct and reliable functioning, flushing units are subjected to 200,000 water-tightness and accelerated life tests at the factory.

BODY

The Styrofoam that coats the entire lower body prevents condensation in the cistern and ensures sound insulation.

FLUSH PLATE

OVERFLOW PIPE

The overflow pipe in the flushing mechanism takes the safety duty in wall-hung frames. When too much water enters the cistern, the overflow pipe channels the excess water into the WC pan, preventing the risk of flooding.

Metal stands enable easy adjustment of height from the floor and secure fixing.
