‘When’s he popping a ring on it?’

By Alaina Kear & Joshua Fancourt

By Xavier De Santos & Samuel De La Torre

By Rob Young

Throughout society, young women are constantly faced with these questions. We all assume by default that women will hit these milestones throughout their lives. Isn’t it time we stop assuming?

London 1888. Jack the Ripper’s reign over the poverty stricken East End has begun, and the streets are being painted with the blood of prostitutes, the diseaseridden women whose lives revolve around how well they sell themselves. Can the Whitechapel police stop the massacre before it’s too late?

The struggle between eight unwilling subjects has never been so strong. In a room where escaping is not an option, human relations are continually tested through a series of anonymous experiments.

‘Was Shakespeare right to kill off King Lear at the end of his play?’ This fascinating re-examination takes us along Lear’s ensuing spiritual journey following the news of Cordelia’s death. This is playwright Frank Bramwell’s fifth sequel to Shakespeare’s plays, the previous four delighting audiences with the boldness of their approach and the dexterity of touch. Antigone

Performed at: 2 Comfortable Place, Bath BA1 3AJ

Himmel Theatre

Willow and Winnie Wilson have lived at No. 2 Comfortable Place for over 25 years. Their once practical home has become a cluttered treasure trove of curious collections, knick-knacks and obsession. Watch on or lend a hand as they embark on a journey to de-clutter. Hosted in a terraced house, this immersive experience invites audiences to join the Wilson sisters on their clean up mission.

Based on Sophocles’ tragedy, Antigone offers to Himmeltheatre a wide range of possibilities to work on conflict. The human being stands against the Universe, and the bodies on stage tell the struggle between the law of Men and the Law of Nature. A woman stands against the will of a tyrant: her vision being the only thing that can make the power collapse opening new prospects. The city of Tebe will heal only with sacrifice. Antigone wants to fight and we offer her our bodies and voices from far away.
