INTRODUCING THREE NEW POETIC NUANCES
This year, we’d like you to meet Ruby, Acacia, and Clay –the three new members of our colour palette, created in close collaboration with colour expert Margrethe Odgaard and designed to blend seamlessly with the rest of the family.
Our three newcomers all bring a gentle, optimistic warmth to the room. Calm and comforting colours but with a deep and nuanced construction that makes them feel vibrantly alive as they play with the sunlight and change throughout the day.
Let’s create playful spaces – with Ruby, Acacia, and Clay.
Precision, creativity, and quality
The close collaboration between Montana and colour expert Margrethe Odgaard started in 2018 and was a careful and lengthy process to make sure every colour had just the right nuance, and reflected the precision, creativity, and quality of Montana.
Margrethe was given almost free rein to use her expertise, know-how, and creative skills to create a series of beautifully poetic colours. Deep, nuanced, and rich colours. Always changing with the light and interacting with their surroundings.
Back then, a few positions were left open in the palette, so additional colours could be added when the time was right. That time is now.
“Since 2019, we have become very familiar with the colour palette, and now we are ready to launch three new deep and poetic nuances to complement the rest of the family.”
Margrethe Odgaard
Meet Ruby
SURFACE: MATT MICRO STRUCTURE
Ruby is a vibrant, sweet summer romance.
Lush berries, blooming wildflowers, and sweet, white chocolate. Young, wild, and pink on one side, calm, experienced, and harmonious on the other.
Ruby balances the sweet and the sour. Always shining bright, but never dominating. A vibrant colour splash of positive vibes and high energy but kept at a calm and comforting pace. Pink enough to be pink, but with a warm heart that seamlessly blend with surfaces like tiles, stone, or wood.
Meet Acacia
SURFACE: VELVET SMOOTH
Acacia is warm scents and golden sunsets.
Sand between your toes, warm wind in your hair, and sunrays on your cheeks. Energetic, bright, and warm on one side, calm and grounded on the other. Like a little capsule of good vibes, Acacia is just there, calmly waiting to greet you with its warm presence.
Much like its fellow yellow hues, Acacia walks a tightrope between being too much and too little. Thanks to many trials and solid craftsmanship, Acacia found the perfect balance – shining bright like a sun, without ever taking up all the space.
Meet Clay
SURFACE: MATT MICRO STRUCTURE
Clay is cool, calm, and confident.
Peaceful walks in nature, quiet times with a good book, the wind in an ancient oak tree. Modest on one side and proud on the other, Clay carries itself with a calm, stoic presence, complementing the waves of light in a soft, subdued expression, while serving as the perfect backup for the rest of the colours in the palette.
Clay is a deep and clayey grey, warm as the earth and soft as the fluffy clouds above it.

The sheer joy of colours by
We invited, Swedish multidisciplinary designer and colorist, Tekla Evelina Severin to explore the many options of Ruby, Acacia, and Clay. The result is a series of beautifully curated interpretations of the three new colours in the Montana palette.
Watch how the colours unfold through Tekla’s three scenarios: Bedroom & Wardrobe, Living room, and Home office – where everything is carefully selected, positioned, and colour-coordinated to bring joy to the room.

Joyful pops of colour with Acacia
Tekla’s interpretation of the warm and golden Acacia is a creative blend of colours, fabrics, art, furniture, and perfectly colour-coordinated clothes. A bright and bubbly universe, where Acacia takes centre stage but has the perfect companions in the pink and positive Ruby, the orangey-red Rosehip, and the soothingly calm Camomile.
Contemporary office vibes with Clay
Join us for a monumental interpretation of the modern workplace. Textures, patterns, colours, and configurations all come together to create a stunning, yet grounded home office. Clay keeps things cool, calm, and confident and is surrounded by the perfect co-workers: the velvety soft brown Hazelnut, the deeply saturated Pine, and a little dash of the sweet, pink Ruby.

Safe for you safe for the environment
At Montana, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously. For us, sustainability is using high-quality materials and robust craftsmanship to produce long-lasting products. Long-lasting products that are neither harmful to you nor the environment.
Since 2007, we have exclusively used water-based lacquer colours which do not contain any solvents harmful to you or the environment. Our modules carry the Danish Indoor Climate Label, and in 2019, we obtained the prestigious EU Ecolabel, becoming one of the first furniture brands in Europe to hold this official European certification.
The Ecolabel applies to the entire Montana System, CO16, Montana Free Shelving System, JW table, all Panton products and the Kevi chairs (without upholstery).
A factory of colours
All the many shades in our colour palette are exclusive Montana colours, available only on Montana products, and we mix them all at our factory in Haarby, Denmark. The water-based lacquer colours do not contain any solvents harmful to you or the environment.
Danish design — Danish manufacturing
All Montana modules are designed, developed, and made in Denmark. Nothing leaves our factory in Haarby without having been manually inspected and approved, ensuring that every Montana piece has the perfect surface, jointing, and craftsman’s touch.
Buy now keep forever
The flexible nature of Montana means that you can transform your modules almost endlessly and enjoy your high-quality furniture your whole life. You can add more modules if your home grows, rearrange them to suit a new purpose, split them across multiple rooms, and always add new colours if you feel like brightening up the mix. And if one day, you’re ready to hand over your Montana collection, we’ve made sure that the modules are durable and lasting for many generations to come, making Montana a sound investment.

Montana is a family-owned, Danish company that proudly delivers on quality, craftsmanship, and long-lasting products –while offering you endless possibilities to create the look that’s just right for you.
In 1954, naval officer Peter J. Lassen followed his curiosity into the furniture industry, where he worked with renowned Danish architects and designers such as Arne Jacobsen, Jørn Utzon, Piet Hein, and Verner Panton for many years, before he founded Montana Furniture in 1982.
Montana is based on his philosophy; that every one of us has a need for freedom and a natural desire to create our own personal spaces.
Peter J. Lassen passed away peacefully after a brief illness on August 15, 2019, in his home in northern Zealand, Denmark.
Five generations — of Danish Design
Joakim Lassen, the son of Peter J. Lassen, is the fifth generation of his family to work with furniture and the great grandson of furniture manufacturer Fritz Hansen. Today, he is Managing Director of Montana. With a background in cultural geography and a career as an environmental consultant, sustainability remains a high priority.
