DR. GREENE IS an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement, sports medicine, knee and shoulder arthroscopy, and orthopedic trauma. Based at the Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic, he is part of a network of 34 board certified orthopedic surgeons who represent nine specialties and cover the Greater Baton Rouge area. The group is partnered with Surgical Specialty Center. “Our practice is focused on personalized excellence,” he says. “Through teamwork and specialization, we want patients to know that we care and are capable of helping with their specific needs. Our aim and mission is to provide technically excellent work in a caring and compassionate way.” Dr. Greene earned his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, and his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He completed rotations at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas, and at Harborview Trauma Center in Seattle, Washington. He also earned an MBA from Yale University in 2016. Medicine is just one of his passions. Aside from his thriving practice, he has performed dozens of surgeries on medical mission trips from South America to Africa, and his Dr. Greene Foundation (greenecharity. com) provides disaster aid throughout the world. In 2017, he was elected to the Louisiana Public Service Commission, an office he will hold through 2024. His civic efforts led him to join the military, and he is now a Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserves. He and his wife Kristen work hard to set a positive example for their five children, focusing on faith and family. Dr. Greene is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Association for Physician Leadership, American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Orthopedic Trauma Association, Louisiana Orthopaedic Association, International Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and Arthroscopy Association of North America. He was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha at Texas A&M University, and in 2000, was recognized as outstanding medical student in orthopaedic surgery and received the Moses Maimonides Award for Ethics in Medicine.

DR. LALONDE is an orthopedic surgeon with the Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic, where he treats a wide variety of common foot problems, sports-related injuries, fractures and dislocations, posttraumatic infections, post-traumatic reconstruction, and neuromuscular disorders. From athletes and dancers to patients with arthritis, Dr. Lalonde has expertise treating patients of all ages and conditions. He says he is blessed to wake up each morning and come to work at a job he loves. “I treat every patient as if they were my own family members,” he says. “I establish a relationship with them by listening and learning how their physical problems are affecting their life. He earned his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, completed his orthopedic surgery residency at LSU in New Orleans and finished his foot and ankle fellowship at Harvard University. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is also a clinical assistant professor of LSU Health Sciences Center, Department of Orthopedics in Baton Rouge, and was a clinical instructor at Harvard’s Combined Orthopedic Surgery Department. He and his wife Dr. Elise Scallan are the parents of four active children—James, Isabella, Sophia and Amelia.

KEVIN RICHÉ
Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Dr. Kevin Riché specializes in the treatment of a variety of orthopedic conditions such as fractures and orthopedic trauma, and performs procedures such as knee and hip replacement, sacroiliac joint fusions, pelvic surgeries and hip arthroplasty. He takes pride in serving the community where he grew up and attended St. George Elementary School and Catholic High School. Though he completed his fellowship training out of state, it was always his goal to return to Baton Rouge to practice medicine. “It was important to me to give back to the place and the people that were such an important part of my upbringing,” he says. Dr. Riché completed his residency at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans and his fellowship training in orthopedic trauma at Harvard School of Medicine, where he met his wife Catherine, who is also an orthopedic specialist. He completed an internship in orthopedic surgery at Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. He has also received extensive training in direct anterior total hip arthroplasty. He is a member of several professional organizations, including Orthopaedic Trauma Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Louisiana State Medical Society, and Louisiana Orthopaedic Association. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and is a AO faculty member. Dr. Riché has a special interest in athletics. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering with the Catholic High School wrestling team. A CHS alumni, he competed on the school’s wrestling team and later wrestled varsity at Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. He was an assistant wrestling coach at CHS in 1994-1995. Dr. Riché is also licensed as an instrument-rated pilot.
CATHERINE RICHÉ
Dr. Catherine Riché specializes in orthopedics, specifically the treatment of disorders of the foot and ankle. This includes arthritis, fractures, deformity, tendon and ligament disorders, and sports injuries. She performs minimally invasive surgeries as well. Based at Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic, she is the only woman in the group and one of just a few female orthopedists in Louisiana. “I always wanted to be a doctor and took premed and chemistry courses in college,” Dr. Riché said. “I also worked as a teaching assistant in organic chemistry during college. I discovered I liked orthopedic surgery while working at an organ donor bank and during my first summer of med school when I did research at an orthopedic specialty hospital.” Raised outside of Boston, Dr. Riché earned her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, and graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in chemistry and philosophy. She also ran track all four years. She received her medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and completed her residency at Harvard University. In fact, it was at Harvard where she met her husband Kevin (doing his fellowship there) and decided to follow him to his hometown of Baton Rouge. Dr. Riché is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. She is currently chief of orthopedics at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center, and the former medical executive board chairman at Surgical Specialty Center. In her spare time, Dr. Riché enjoys running, biking and skiing. “Last year I broke my heel and had the pleasure of wearing a boot and using crutches for eight weeks!” she said. “I can definitely empathize with my non weight-bearing patients now.”

DR. CASTINE IS a specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and blood disorders, including lymphoma, leukemia, myeloma, breast cancer and many other diseases. He started his practice in Baton Rouge in 1999 after earning his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine and completing his fellowship at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. It was there at UAB’s Comprehensive Cancer Center that he chose to focus on hematology and oncology. Dr. Castine was the first clinical research fellow at UAB participating in the development of early phase trials for patients who had run out of options. He now practices at the Hematology/Oncology Clinic, which he describes as the only multi-doctor community-based oncology practice in the Baton Rouge area. “Because we are independent, we can provide more efficient and affordable care than oncologists who are associated with hospitals offering the same treatments,” he says. “Our clinic provides internal lab, pathology and pharmacy services, and our team includes five physicians and several experienced oncology nurse practitioners. We maintain relationships with doctors throughout the community and consult across boundaries to assemble the best healthcare team for individual patients.” The Hematology/Oncology Clinic also has a satellite location serving the Zachary community, which now sees patients four days per week. Dr. Castine does fundraising for various local charities and has served on the boards of several community programs. He is currently Chairman of the Board of the Orthopedic Surgery Center and team physician for Catholic High School football. Throughout his career, he has received many distinguished awards, including the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association Award and Top Doctor recognition by Louisiana Life Magazine in 2015 and 2016. During medical school, he received the McGraw-Hill Book Award for the Highest Ranking Freshman Medical Student and the Urban Maes Memorial Award for Most Outstanding Four-Year Medical Academic Achievement. Outside of work, Dr. Pope enjoys spending time with family and friends, and traveling with his wife of 31 years, Tina. He is most proud of the accomplishments of his two daughters, Jordan and Haleigh. In addition, he enjoys hunting, reading, sleeping in whenever possible, and attending LSU sporting events.
