CEO, Baton Rouge Clinic
Caring for Generations
Caring for Generations
The Baton Rouge Clinic, AMC has been committed to providing care to our neighbors and friends in Baton Rouge and the surrounding area for more than 75 years. At The Baton Rouge Clinic, AMC, we believe that community involvement is a key component in building a healthier city. This belief has led us to participate in numerous outreach initiatives, like sponsoring the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, the Capital Area Heart Walk, and the Blue Ribbon Soiree. All of these events work to promote early preventative screenings, educate the community on potential risk factors, and provide funding for research on diseases that increasingly affect our region.
For us however, building a better city does not stop at clinical care, preventative screenings or research funding. It also involves combating the social determinants of health that affect our area. We annually participate in local campaigns like Fill a Prescription, Pat’s Coats for Kids, and the St. Vincent de Paul’s Toiletries Drive, which aid and assist underprivileged families in getting the essential resources that they need to live a healthier life. The Baton Rouge Clinic also teams up with local organizations like the Franciscan University to help train the next generation of nurses, and the Baton Rouge Youth Coalition (BRYC) to annually award scholarships to students pursuing careers in the medical field.
Our commitment to care and service would not be possible without the continued trust and support we receive from our patients and our community. Through our efforts, we hope to improve lives and inspire change, so that every person is able to live a happy and healthy life. Our motto has always been “Caring for Generations,” a tradition we have proudly upheld for more than 75 years.
JANE VERRET President & CEO, Campus Federal Credit Union
Working Together and Finding Solutions
At Campus Federal, we consider ourselves a community within a community–people coming together to help one another, and our members, to make the place where we all live a little better. We provide a values-driven experience, balancing our convenient technology and competitive products with insightful advice. It’s important to feel confident about and have a comfort level with managing finances. Banking should feel empowering, not intimidating. That’s why banking with Campus Federal involves so much more than just transactions. Every decision we make is based on the best interests of our members, along with the communities we serve.
Unlike most traditional banks, credit unions are typically connected by a partnership with a company, educational institution, organization or professional industry. Campus Federal has served LSU and its communities since 1934, and we are extremely proud of our bond with the state’s flagship university. But we also embrace a broader concept of unity, as we welcome anyone who lives, works or worships in our home communities of Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Shreveport.
Many of the faces you see at our Campus Federal branches have been here for years, allowing us to get to know our members on a more personal level. That familiarity just further strengthens our resolve to find solutions and work together to help our members achieve their personal goals. After all, we’re members too. Each of us has ownership in this. The stronger the union, the better the experience will be for all of us.
CALVIN HART
General Manager, Nucor Steel Louisiana, LLC
Committed to our Community
Nucor Steel Louisiana is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nucor Corporation, the largest U.S. steel producer and recycler in North America. Located in St. James Parish, our direct reduced iron facility uses natural gas at extremely high temperatures to remove oxygen from iron ore and creates a more pure iron unit, which is then shipped by barge to Nucor steel mills around the country. Steel produced with DRI uses significantly less energy and fuel, resulting in less emissions and environmental impacts than traditional blast furnace steel production.
Our challenge is to become the world’s safest steel company. We live each day with gratitude for the families, customers and partners who make our work possible. We are committed to our local communities and build partnerships based on integrity and trust to ensure long-term success.
Since 2013, Nucor Steel Louisiana has built and nurtured a partnership with the American Cancer Society through Relay for Life fundraising and outreach efforts. During this time, we have raised over $1.8 million for the American Cancer Society and had the opportunity to name two research grants in honor of Bailee “Bee” Becnel, a Nucor child who lost her battle with a rare form of brain cancer known as DIPG. Whether serving on planning committees, hosting charitable fundraisers, or engaging in outreach to survivors and caregivers, the Nucor Steel Louisiana team has been ALL IN as we work to put an END to CANCER!
