TURNER INDUSTRIES – SPECIALIZED TRANSPORTATION GROUP ABOUT OUR COMPANY

In 1961 a young engineer named Bert Turner bought Nichols Construction Co. out of bankruptcy. The company specialized in industrial construction, heavy equipment, hauling, rigging and equipment rental. It didn’t take Turner long to realize the industrial construction industry was a series of peaks and valleys. He began to take steps to ensure a steady stream of revenue, embarking on industrial contract maintenance and other services which fulfilled the needs of his clients. Turner Industries’ equipment division expanded over the next five decades to offer multiple industrial services, including turnkey solutions like heavy hauls/specialized transportation projects.

WHAT WE DO

Our specialized transportation group is committed to providing seamless turnkey services with a proven track record of safety, reliability, and execution excellence. These services are offered locally and nationwide to clients in the commercial and industrial sectors. it. We handle the coordination of ancillary services, including side and overhead clearance of route, permits acquisition, matting, barge securement and storage, and engineered transportation drawings, if required.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE FUTURE

We expect to grow specialized transportation services by continuing to expand our fleet, investing in the most technologically advanced hauling equipment. Complementing the new and expanding fleet, our employees participate in advanced manufacturer equipment training to ensure safety and increase efficiency. Also, Turner is establishing new operations offices throughout the South in places like Freeport, Texas, Pensacola, Florida, and most recently Harahan, Louisiana. These new facilities allow for increased support and coordination of services.

INDUSTRY OUTLOOK

With economic conditions on the rise, industrial facilities across the U.S. are increasing spending on construction and expansion projects. This presents many opportunities for hauling oversized apparatuses throughout the region.
