Callibrate A Battery in Windows Vista and Windows 7
Calibrating a battery can help extend the lifespan of a laptop battery. A Presario R4000 is a laptop manufactured by Compaq, which is a subdivision of Hewlett Packard. The laptop features a rechargeable battery pack. The battery pack should be calibrated prior to the first use and every three months thereafter. Calibrating, also known as conditioning, the battery requires you to fully charge then drain the battery. This ensures all battery cells are working and get routinely used. • Insert the AC power adapter into the power adapter outlet on the Compaq Presario R4000 laptop. Allow the power adapter to fully charge the battery. A fully discharged battery will take about 4 hours to recharge. Remove the AC power adapter once the battery is charged. • Click «Start» in the lower left-hand corner of the taskbar. Type «Power» in the search field, followed by clicking on the magnifying glass icon to search. When the search list is displayed, double-click «Power Options.» • Double-click «Create A Power Plan» from the left sidebar. Click once in the name field and type «Calibrator» followed by pressing the «Enter» button. • Click the «Never» option below the «On Battery» column. Click the «Create» button.
