Way to Flush the Radiator of your Car


The radiator is a component of your car which is basically used to take the heat out of the coolant and place them into the air in which the fan blows in.


Then the coolant liquid will be circulated back into the engine of your car to cool down the heat components of the engine.


When the coolant of the cooling system is going to build up with dust and debris, then to get rid of the sediment the coolant flush on the car radiator.

The proper time to flush


Generally the radiator of your car supposed to flush in every 5 years or 100,000 miles. Sometime it will depend on the driving habits of the car.


Your auto mechanic will always recommend you to flush the coolant on every 30,000 miles for increasing the engine performance.


Drain the coolant


To flush the radiator, first you need to drain the old coolant from your car and drive them for at least 30 minutes prior to start the process of engine cooling.


To catch all the old coolant from the radiator, first you need to place a special pan under the radiator.


Add cleaner second


Once you will successfully drain the old coolant from the radiator, then add special radiator cleaner to the reservoir of the radiator.


After placing the cleaner in the radiator, add distilled water to the reservoir and turn on your car and set your heater to full to clean the cooling system.


Drain them again


When you clean process is finished, then you need to drain the cleaning fluids and distilled water from the radiator.


Again perform the similar cleaning process and flush the cooling system with the tap water to ensure that it will clean all the sediments.


Add new coolant


At last, add the new coolant to the radiator reservoir of your car. So, you need to add a half gallon of antifreeze and a half gallon of distilled water.


Check your owner's manual to get the exact amount of these things. Then start your car and let the coolant run through the engine for 15 minutes.
