Recommendation Letter: Mr. Bayes Ahmed It gives me a great pleasure in writing this letter of recommendation for Mr. Bayes Ahmed whom I know as one of my postgraduate students and also as an advisee. He has successfully finished M.Sc. in Geospatial Technologies in March 2011. He received Erasmus Mundus Scholarship awarded by the European Commission for continuing his entire Master program. He has successfully completed the three semesters from Spain, Germany and Portugal. Moreover, Mr. Ahmed obtained his Bachelor degree in January 2008 from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). His results in the secondary and higher secondary examinations are also excellent. As far as I know, he has some international peer-reviewed journal article publications as well. I was a guest Professor of Institute for Geoinformatics, Universit채t M체nster (WWU), Germany. During that period, Mr. Bayes Ahmed was my student. I have had a chance to observe his performance closely as I taught two courses of his master program. I am happy to know that he is now going to apply for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in the UK. From the very beginning he was determined to set himself as an attentive student. Overall, Mr. Ahmed is highly intelligent and has good analytical skills. I found him remarkably sincere, attentive, thoughtful and overall an outstanding student. He is innovative in solving difficult problems and comprehends new concepts in a resourceful way. He also has outstanding organizational skills. Mr. Ahmed not only headed the class projects, he ensured success by demonstrating leadership abilities that his classmates both admired and respected. I have seen many examples of his talent and have long been impressed by his diligence and work ethic. He has a strong oral and written communication skill in English. He has been a tremendous researcher. He has proven to be a take-charge person who is able to successfully develop plans and implement them. I consider his to be one of the most studious and responsible members here. His knowledge regarding Climate Change, Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System is highly appreciable. I have no doubt he can adeptly meet the challenges. He has shown me repeatedly that he is profoundly dedicated and responsible. Mr. Ahmed is a smart and well-behaved individual and easily understandable by others. He has a friendly personality. He is a motivated young man of considerable self discipline. He is funloving, likable, enthusiastic, trusting and trustworthy. I would rank him in the top 5% of students that I have taught in the past five years in respect of his writing ability and research skills. Additionally he has been nominated for Commonwealth PhD Scholarship (2013) in the UK by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh. I am convinced that Mr. Ahmed possesses all the potentials to pursue higher studies and I therefore, strongly recommend him for admission in his desired PhD program in a UK university with Commonwealth Scholarship.
