Rooomy - Have you always been into interiors?

Jo - I think it’s from my mum. I have really lovely memories of shopping for décor for my bedroom as a child – searching the high street, finding just the right design and then, because it was the 1980s/1990s, EVERYTHING would match – duvet, pillow case, wallpaper border and then we would accessorise. My sister and I would get up early on a Sunday morning and move all the furniture around in the living and dining room, trying to make the room different and more interesting than the time before. So, yes, I think it’s safe to say I’ve always loved interiors!

Rooomy - You have 3 children!! What are the three best things about 3 and the three hardest?

Jo - By far and away the best thing about three kids, is that my little family isn’t so much little anymore, and is more of a crazy gang, which is absolutely what I always wanted. I knew I wanted a house filled with noise and laughter and personality and my three boys bring that in spades and I’m trying to create a home for them that they will love as much as me, and where there’ll be happy and comfortable bringing their friends for years to come. I’ve got a few hardest points...

4142Rooomy - What are the best parts about them sharing?

Jo - Our eldest was actually at a stage where he wouldn’t settle at night time. He’d just started school and was anxious about so much and hated falling asleep on his own. And overnight, the addition of his brother, took that away. He now goes to sleep (mostly!) with no drama. And I love hearing their little chats as they’re falling asleep or just waking up, talking about what dreams they’ve had or what their favourite part of the bedtime story was.

Rooomy - What doesn’t work so well?

Jo - They have different sleep requirements, so our eldest wakes up early every morning and wakes his brother up, who I know would sleep for longer if he wasn’t getting woken. Sometimes their morning chats get a bit overexcited and develop into games such as ‘throw all the teddy bears off of the top bunk’!
