Garden Design Landscape the

Petty Residence

Historic architecture empowered by the landscape

The Petty Residence is a glimpse into the future where our family has been given the Isabel Roberts home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1908. I designed the landscape for my proposed future at the age of 37 and married with three children. The property focused on spaces for recreation, a wine garden, and a secret garden.

A place for growth, recreation and coming together as a family.

Site Design Detailing

Sculpture Garden An exhibit in the landscape Whimsical, playful and active are adjectives used often when describing renowned artist Alexander Calder, the inspiration for this artisan park at Ball State University. The park uses artwork and characteristics of Calder’s to develop a pedestrian corridor that embraces movement and promotes seasonal views and experiences.

Woodland Design Entire

Callaway Chapel Garden Highlighting architecture implimented at Ball State University

Ball State’s Duck Pond has been a missed amenity for many years. A solution was found by placing the Lisa Callaway Chapel within a woodland designed for whimsical walks framed by seasonal views.

Housing and Community Design TOD

Fall Point Community From intersection to destination

Design circluation

A place expressing the potential in a second chance. Fall Point Community is the site’s second life, its first ending as a brown-field from its industrial past. The current program emphasizes progression and art through town-homes and an art based downtown for aspiring artists.

Aside from standard programming techniques, this project focused on addressing the site in three layers; circulation, structure and vegetation. Focusing on each aspect in that order led to a clear, cohesive design that worked with one another as well as the surrounding community.

Regional Planning Ecological Corridor

Karner Blue Greenway A place for rebirth, A place for rejuvenation This regional trail project connects a gap created by an industrial site in the center of the Dunes National Lakeshore in northern Indiana. An ecological stance was the focus using the needs of the Karner Blue butterfly to develop the site which would later facilitate a pedestrian hiking/biking trail.

Science was the design principle for this project. Researching the requirements for members of a biological process provided the program for this project. The following diagrams demonstrate the succession of progress in Karner blue butterfly populations into an immersive trail system.

Office Life As an intern in a smaller office which branches off of the main office, I was gladly exposed to a wide array of tasks. Multiple projects with separate demands allowed me to continue development in Photoshop rendering, AutoCAD drafting and interpersonal relationships within the office.

Experience I was able to provide myself with the opportunity to experience an extended internship opportunity (7 continuous months) which helped to better understand the workings of a professional office in detail. My work primarily centered around computer aided renderings and AutoCAD drafting spread among multiple projects varying in scale

Hughe’s Nature Preserve A space for nature and its inhabitants The Audubon Society chapter located in Muncie, IN purchased a property approximately twenty acres in which needed guidance, Hughe’s Nature Preserve was created. The design incorporated an environmental reversal from a detrimental state to a diverse community of native plantings, opportunities for education, and ideal habitat for exploration and habitat observation.

BBP Designs Portfolio / 20

Presentation, the most effective way to get the community on-board.

Forest Ridge Community Walkabiltiy in a Transit Oriented Development for Beech Grove, Indiana Forest Ridge Community focuses upon the fundamentals of a Transit Oriented Development while emphasizing walkability. The FRC property is along the proposed Light Rail system through Indianapolis, IN. Along with walkability FRC focuses on three environments for living not presently found in the Beechgrove, IN, area; two-story town-homes with alternating green roofs, Chatam village style town-homes, and a section of high-end suburban homes encompassed by a wooded corridor.

Presentation, a time to explain, a time to sell and the time to emphasize the effort given to a project.
