NORMAN F. SIMMS
Join Norman in any or all of his art classes. Norman graduated from the Academy of Art with a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts. He created dynamic paintings and drawings of various medium. He has exhibited his artworks regionally in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York City. He has received the “Palmer Award for Excellence” at the Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie for his oil painting, “The Artist and his Model”. Introduction to Drawing II
If you love to draw, this is your class. You will continue to learn how to recognize types of edges, lines, and angles; how to recognize proportion and perspective; how to render light, shadow, and highlights by the use of gradations of tone. Watercolor Basics and Beyond
In this class, beginner to advanced students will be encouraged to paint subjects they enjoy – from still life to landscape. We will begin with a basic list of supplies and focus on color mixing, the unique use of each brush, and texture and painting techniques. Experienced students can also focus on composition, design and exploring textural effects. Gouache Painting
In this Gouache Painting workshop you will learn the fundamentals and versatility of painting in Gouache, discovering essential techniques and you may work photo reference or life. You will learn about different surfaces such as mylar, toned papers, brushes, brands of gouache, and painters that use gouache and how to apply gouache at its right consistency.
