Read Sections 1–6. Learn about how geography affects the way people live.

2.

Watch a video showing one of six communities around the United States.

3.

Choose three activities families can do in that community. With a partner, discuss why you chose each activity.

4.

In your Activity Notes, draw or write about each area and its weather, transportation, and activities.

5.

Share your ideas with the whole class. If you can explain why activities happen in certain communities and not others, then you’re thinking like a geographer! You have discovered how geography affects how people live.
