Berwyn’s Violet Flower Shop is a beloved staple in the community, celebrating 45 years of serving local residents. Alan & Marlene Comella, both longtime Berwyn residents, take pride in offering the highest quality flowers and customer service to their neighbors. While much has changed since they first opened their doors, their commitment to excellence has remained the same. Customers can now conveniently order online, but the shop still welcomes those who prefer the personal touch of visiting in person. During the pandemic, they were honored to provide beautiful flowers for funerals when many were unable to attend in person. Be sure to stop by and browse their two greenhouses and outdoor bedding plants, and treat yourself or a loved one to their top-selling high-quality roses.

Autre Monde Cafe & Spirits opened their doors

12 years ago as Berwyn’s first Green Certified Restaurant. They are proud to celebrate the authenticity of Mediterranean cuisines including a few perennial items such as their Pork Pintxos and Duck Sausage Flatbread. Complete your cuisine with their signature blood orange gimlet. Autre Monde has hosted a number of fundraising events including Community Tuesdays and Takeout 25 Group, an organization that assists restaurants in the area that survived COVID and gives back to the local community. Over the years, Autre Monde has continued to adapt to the way people are dining today by adding a number of non-alcoholic cocktails and beer. In 2022, they opened a new enclosure on the patio and have also introduced a Wine Club called Vin du Monde, a monthly subscription of a rotating selection of wines handpicked by their sommelier John Aranza. The club hosts monthly tasting events and quarterly winemaker dinners. The Finish Line Grant is a $600,000 program designed to assist businesses and property owners with interior and exterior buildout costs, such as awnings, façade improvements, HVAC systems, and more! Funding is calculated as a percentage of the total project cost. Grant awards are committed on a first-come, first-serve basis, with the maximum amount of $50,000.

For larger rehabilitation projects, the Pay as You Go Program offers a 25% redevelopment rebate to commercial property owners in Berwyn’s TIF districts. This reimbursement is based on TIF increment generated and is rebated as it is earned.
