Appalachian Spring Concert

Shepherd of the Valley United Methodist Church, 604 Seven Mile Road, Hope will host Atwater Donnelly on April 15 at 7PM. Admission is $15 at the door with children under 12 admitted free. Dubbed ìAppalachian Spring,î the concert features Aubrey Atwater and Elwood Donnelly with their special blend of traditional American and Celtic folk music and dance, along with original songs and poetry. Bring the family and enjoy a wonderful evening. Light refreshments served after the concert.

Aarp Chapter 2210 Bronx Zoo Trip

AARP Chapter 2210 has planned a Bronx Zoo trip for May 16. Bus pickup from the Exit 19 Park & Ride on Hopkins Hill Road at 7AM, return time is approximately 8:30PM. Cost is $114/person. For more information call Maureen at 828-5188. Final payment due by April 18.

COVENTRY PUBLIC LIBRARY PRESENTS...

Coventry Library Presents: Styling with Thrifted & Vintage Items on April 20 at 6PM. Join us for this fun, free program in which Karen from Spirits of Fashion will teach us about styling with thrifted and vintage items - great for the planet, and your wallet! Coventry Public Library Homebound Services

The Library Homebound Service is a program designed to assist Coventry residents who have a temporary or permanent physical impairment that would prevent them from coming to the Library. The Homebound Coordinator visits private homes on a monthly basis and will deliver books (large type or regular print), DVD’s, audiobooks & periodicals to the patron. West Warwick Public Schools Mentors Needed

Warwick Food Cupboard

The West Warwick Assistance Agency operates a food cupboard at 1293 Main Street serving all West Warwick residents living at or below three times the federal poverty level. We are open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10AM-2PM, unless there is a town-wide parking ban in effect. We offer standard amounts of core groceries based on household size as well as self serve selections of produce, bread and assorted other non-core grocery items we have on hand. If you have any questions, feel free to call us at 8280310, and no appointment is necessary to visit our facility.

Coventry Public Library 2nd Annual Pet Photo Contest

May is National Pet Month and to celebrate, we want to show off Coventry’s cutest pets! Send us a photo of your fur baby by April 21 to have it featured in the Coventry Public Library’s display case throughout the month of May! Project Hand Up

Project Hand Up is a supplemental program provided for working people and elderly in the community to be able to affordably shop for groceries for a suggested donation. They are located at 15 Factory Street in West Warwick. Suggested donation is $6 for 3 bags of groceries. HOURS: If you are 60 & older or a Veteran (Veteran Card required), you can shop on any day regardless of your last name. Tuesdays 3-5PM for anyone with the last name that begins with A-K, Thursdays 3-5PM for last names beginning with L-Z & Fridays 3-4:30PM for anyone who missed their shopping day. VOLUNTEER TOUR GUIDES NEEDED

The Paine House, 7 Station Street in Coventry is looking for volunteer Tour Guides to share this unique historical site with the general public. Can you spare a few hours once or twice a month? All training and materials will be provided, no special skills required. This opportunity is suitable for High School students to adults. Training classes for the 2022 season will begin soon. PAINE HOUSE MUSEUM MARKET DAY OPENING WEEKEND

The Paine House Museum’s opening weekend for their Market Day will be held on May 6 from 10AM-2PM at 7 Station Street, Coventry. As well as shopping for crafts and goods from local artisans, you can also tour Paine House and enjoy music. Admission is free. Market Days will be held on the 1st Saturday of the month from May-October.
