Transfer scholarships To be eligible for KU scholarships, students from two- and four-year schools need to have completed 24 transferable college credit hours, and must apply to KU by May 1 (for the fall semester) or Dec. 1 (for the spring semester). Each year, we help hundreds of veterans, active-duty military, and members of the National Guard and Reserves receive their benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and pursue a KU education.

Within a month of being admitted (if you have provided official transcripts), you’ll be able to view your Degree Progress Report (DPR). Your DPR provides an overview of how your transfer credits fulfill KU degree requirements. degreeprogress.ku.edu

Applying to KU
Students who haven’t completed 24 transferable credit hours: • Apply online: apply.ku.edu • Ask that your high school transcript and official ACT or SAT scores be sent to KU. • If you have earned credit at KU after high school, you will need to submit a complete application for readmission at apply.ku.edu. If you have taken courses anywhere other than KU, you will need to send transcripts.

• Complete 24+ transferable college credit hours with 2.5+ cumulative transferable college GPA • Students who have completed fewer than 24 transferable hours at the time of application must meet freshman admission requirements in addition to the GPA requirements listed above.

Students with 24 transferable credit hours: • Apply online at: apply.ku.edu • Request official transcripts from each college and university you’ve attended. Transcripts can be sent electronically, by mail, or by fax (785-864-5017) from the institution. Faxed transcripts are considered unofficial but will be used for admission and scholarship purposes. After you are admitted, we will evaluate your credits from official transcripts only.
