Are you looking for a place to cool off in the summer and keep from melting? Head up to Flagstaff, a wonderful place to beat the heat. Flagstaff has things for everyone to enjoy, including great restaurants, parks and places to stay.

Flagstaff also has a train station, a visitor’s center, hiking trails, dormant volcanoes, stunning sunsets, and yummy food and drinks at Macy’s European Coffee House and Bakery. If you have time, try to head down to Downtown Flagstaff, which has good things to eat, summer events and unique shops.

Some of the summer events are include a farmers’ market, outdoor movies, and music. It is 257 miles from Tucson, but well worth the 3 hours and 37 minutes that it takes to get there. I think that the best time to go is during July, since that is when it is hottest here in Tucson, but cool and refreshing there. So get your luggage and head on up, and have an amazing time!

P.S. Try to avoid rush hour in Phoenix. The traffic can get a bit chaotic during rush hour, which makes it take longer to get to Flagstaff.
