Bathroom before The Charlesworth family from Eschol Park in Western Sydney are a busy blended family with 6 kids between them, their youngest being 12 weeks old. Dad, Dan & Mum, Emma met 5 years ago. It was love at first sight for Dan – Emma had a boyfriend at the time! Since then, they’ve gotten married, merged their lives & families and put their heart and soul into buying their first home. Since they’ve moved in, they’ve renovated the kitchen & painted the whole house all DIY projects on a budget. Ben works at Aldi, in IT at the head office (but has been WFH during Covid) and Emma used to work at Aldi as a check out chick, before taking time off to have 2 babies! They love live music & Dan plays drums in the church band once a fortnight. They’ve applied for The Living Room because they have a family bathroom that needs to be brought out of the 1980s – the decade they were both born! Emma dyes her hair blue, and the bathroom basin is completely stained in blue hair dye and there’s mould that just won’t budge no matter how often they clean. Having 6 kids in the home, all they want is a neat and tidy bathroom – 1 for the kids and 1 for the adults! WHY THEM? They’re first home buyers, who’ve worked hard to get into the property market. They’re also lovely, down to earth and big fans of the show.

The ultimate R&R luxury bathroom Throw away the functional family bathroom - how do you create the relaxing glam you deserve after a lifetime of hard work? Barry creates the ultimate R&R luxury bathroom space. Mari (71) and Harry (73) are your typical loving grandparents. They moved from the Philippines over 30 years ago with their 4 children and built their dream home in Castle Hill. Mari and Harry worked as accountants for many years and decided to retire 5 years ago to enjoy their life and renovate their home however, as it happens, things don’t always go to plan. Harry being the handyman that he is, has tried to keep busy and fix odd jobs around the house. Unfortunately, last year he fell and hasn’t fully recovered. As for Mari, all she ever knew was work and kids. She never had time to find a hobby so now, at 71 she finds she’s not enjoying retirement as much as she had hoped. Taking care of her grandchildren (who she absolutely loves) hasn’t given her the “me” time she was hoping for. In saying this, they are extremely family orientated so take care of their grandchildren as much as they can. Tiffany, who nominated her parents, recognises how much her parents do for the family, especially when it comes to the childcare they provide and wants them to be able to enjoy their retirement in comfort. Mari + Harry built this home almost 30 years ago now to work for their growing family. Now it’s time for their home to work for them. Their bathroom needs to be updated to suit their needs in this new stage of life. The pink 90’s bathroom in particular is not working for them; the sink is far too low, the bath is on a pedestal and they both find it difficult to get in and out, while the shower has a step which is a trip hazard. Not to mention the tiles are also extremely slippery when wet which causes stress and anxiety for them when moving around the bathroom.
