 Description of the bar's length, diameter, and weight

The Rep Fitness Sabre Bar is a type of weightlifting bar used in strength training exercises. The length of the bar is 86 inches or approximately 218.44 centimeters. The diameter of the bar is 28.5 millimeters, which is considered standard for Olympic weightlifting bars.

In terms of weight, the Rep Fitness Sabre Bar weighs approximately 20 kilograms or 44.09 pounds. This weight is also standard for Olympic weightlifting bars, and is designed to provide the necessary rigidity and stability needed for heavy lifts.

 Explanation Of The Knurling And Its Grip

 Knurling is a process that involves cutting small, diamond-shaped patterns into the surface of a weightlifting bar to create a texture that improves grip. This texture provides a better surface for the hands to grip, especially when the hands are sweaty or chalked up.

 The knurling pattern on weightlifting bars can vary in intensity, with some bars having a more aggressive pattern than others. The Rep Fitness Sabre Bar has a moderate knurling pattern that strikes a balance between providing enough grip without being too rough on the hands.

 The grip on a weightlifting bar is also affected by the knurling pattern. The more aggressive the knurling, the better the grip. However, some lifters may find bars with very aggressive knurling uncomfortable or painful to use, especially during high-rep sets. The moderate knurling on the Rep Fitness Sabre Bar provides a good balance between grip and comfort for most lifters.

 Discussion Of The Sleeve Rotation And Construction

The sleeve rotation and construction of a weightlifting bar are important factors that affect its performance and durability. The sleeve is the part of the bar where the weight plates are loaded and secured, and it rotates independently from the main shaft of the bar.

The rotation of the sleeves is important because it allows the weight plates to spin freely during exercises like the snatch and clean and jerk. This spinning motion reduces the amount of stress on the wrists and allows the lifter to maintain proper form during the lift. The Rep Fitness Sabre Bar has high-quality needle bearings that provide smooth and consistent sleeve rotation, which is crucial for Olympic weightlifting.

The construction of the sleeves is also important for the durability of the bar. The sleeves are typically made from high-strength steel and are attached to the main shaft of the bar using a variety of methods, including snap rings or bushings. The Rep Fitness Sabre Bar uses snap rings to secure the sleeves to the shaft, which is a common and reliable method used in Olympic weightlifting bars.

Overall, the sleeve rotation and construction of the Rep Fitness Sabre Bar are designed to provide a smooth and reliable lifting experience, while also ensuring the durability and longevity of the bar.

The Rep Fitness Sabre Bar has a moderate amount of whip that is suitable for Olympic weightlifting. It provides enough flex to allow the lifter to generate momentum during the lift, but not so much that it compromises stability or control.

 The stiffness of the bar refers to its rigidity, or how resistant it is to bending. Olympic weightlifting bars are designed to be stiffer than power lifting bars, as they need to be able to withstand the high forces generated during explosive lifts. The Rep Fitness Sabre Bar is made from high-strength steel and has a stiffness that is appropriate for Olympic weightlifting.

 In summary, the Rep Fitness Sabre Bar has a moderate amount of whip and appropriate stiffness for Olympic weightlifting. The bar's design provides a balance between

flexibility and stability, allowing the lifter to execute the lifts with proper technique and control.

2. Powerlifting (squat, bench press, deadlift): The Rep Fitness Sabre Bar is also suitable for powerlifting due to its length, diameter, and weight. However, the moderate knurling and sleeve rotation may not be ideal for some powerlifting lifts.

3. CrossFit: The Rep Fitness Sabre Bar is suitable for CrossFit workouts that involve Olympic weightlifting and other strength training exercises. The bar's versatility and durability make it a good choice for CrossFit athletes.

4. Strongman: The Rep Fitness Sabre Bar may not be the best choice for Strongman events that involve very heavy loads and unconventional lifting implements. However, it can still be used for some Strongman exercises such as axle deadlifts.

In conclusion, the Rep Fitness Sabre Bar is suitable for a variety of lifts, with its design features making it ideal for Olympic weightlifting and other strength training exercises. CUSTOMERS FEEDBACK

I owned a few bars but this is the only bar where I didn’t have to dust off the metal debris or sharp burs. The package was thicker than my old bars and it handle the delivery’s travel well.

The bar feel “heavier” but it performed awesome with bigger bumper plates (not sure why but it feel that way). The only I have issue is the diameter where it said it 28mm but I think it more like 28.5mm. I know it doesn’t seem like much but when you’re doing heavy load having grip is critical. I’m getting use to it but the bar takes a lot of dropping to the floor without issues.

I've had this bar for 4 years now. Over that time I've averaged a little over 3 workouts per week (3.4 to be exact). I've done the usual stuff with it- squats, deadlifts, various presses, rows, curls, skull crushers, shrugs, and others I may be forgetting. This bar works well for all of them and has never let me down or left me wanting more. The knurls are still in good shape. It still rotates like it's brand new.

When I first switched to a home gym I was looking for good equipment at a fair price. I didn't want to buy ultra cheap stuff that wouldn't last, but I didn't want to break the bank, either. This bar has been a perfect purchase under those guidelines. I'm confident that it will continue to stand the test of time and it will pay for itself in terms of gym fees saved.

RED BEARD OOPS

This review is for the 15kg women's Rep Sabre Olympic Bar:

So far so good! I purchased the bar in October of 2016 for my wife. She is 5'3'' and ~ 105lbs with fairly small hands. She loves this bar. She especially likes it for dead-lifts, front squats, and back squats.

The knurling is very nice and well suited for my wife (aka not too aggressive). The overall length of the bar is significantly shorter than a "standard" 45lbs bar. To illustrate this I'll post a picture of it next to my other 2 bars (a 45 lbs Pendlay bar and 45 lbs Texas Power bar).

I did a static test with 315 lbs to see if there was any noticeable difference in "flex" or "bend" between this bar and my Texas power bar. I picked this weight mainly b/c I don't see my wife going much further than 315 lbs any time soon. However, even if she does I'm not worried about this bar. I'll attach the side by side comparison and let you be the judge.

I have no doubt we'll enjoy this bar for years to come!

Needed a shorter bar due to very limited space. It is a very solid bar. Clean, spins freely. It can hold loads of large plates & collars on each. Olympic size ends that are a just a little shorter.

I can now change weight without putting holes in the wall or smashing my knuckles. FYI~ It does have a noticeable thinner diameter. I wasn't sure I would notice the thinner diameter but, yes it is noticeable. The thinner diameter is not to god or bad in my opinion, just noticeable. That was my trade-off for a much needed shorter bar.

Barbell is smells like metal coins and was covered in oil. I bought I different bar from prx. And it doesn't smell and doesn't have oil covering it. I should've paid more for two of the other brand. There is also a vibration doing deadlifts that throws me off.
