NORTH TRAIL #1896 - TRAPPER’S RUN Length: 0.7 miles (one way) Difficulty: Easy to Moderate Beginning Elevation: 7,923 ft. Elevation Gain: +377 ft. - 0 ft. = +377 ft.
Trail Use: High Open To: Hiking, Biking, Horseback Ending Elevation: 8,300 ft. USGS Map(s): Minturn
Access from Vail: Travel west on I-70 to Exit 173 for West Vail. Proceed west on the North Frontage Road for 1/4 mile. The trailhead is on the left at the first turn in the road. Parking is available on the right just before the turn in the road. Trail Highlights: The trail climbs gradually through pine and aspen. Along the way there are some good views of Vail Mountain. The trail ends on Davos Road, also known as Cortina Lane. Turning right on it will take you to the Davos Singletrack. Turn left up the Singletrack to access the North Trail. Important Information: Trapper’s Run Trail is a part of the spring North Trail system closure which is in effect from April 15 to June 15. During this period traffic is prohibited on this trail network because of elk calving season and other natural resource protection purposes.
