With every new Final Fantasy game, a great deal of anticipation is created. Due to the its enormous fan base and of how epic the game is, development takes a long time. That is why with every single new image or video posted online, a great buzz is created. The fans have been waiting for the latest installment in the series and Square-Enix has never failed to meet gamers' expectations. As the release date comes closer and closer, we can finally say that the wait is finally over. The 13th game in the series is here at last. First announced as a PlayStation 3 exclusive, and shockingly being announced that was also being developed for Microsoft's XBox 360 (outside of Japan), the game has certainly generated more buzz than any other in the series. Some Sony fanboys just hated the fact that they felt Square-Enix betrayed Sony, but don't miss the game just for that. As per usual, Final Fantasy XIII brings in a new universe as the futuristic Cocoon is being ruled by some divine beings called Fal'cie. On the opposite side, living in obscurity, are the Pulse. Both the Pulse and Cocoon are running thanks to their crystal, which are energy sources. These crystals have become an important part in many Final Fantasy games. The story will when lead to a clash between these two forces. Knowing that the game is so popular for its story you wouldn't want that ruined, right? All the great elements that make a Final Fantasy game... well, a Final Fantasy game, also return in FF XIII with the chocobos, flying ships, the famous character named Cid, summoned fiends such as Ifrit, Shiva and Bahumit and even some popular enemies such as Ultima. Of course that a Final Fantasy game wouldn't be complete without magic and that's no exception in FF XIII. Not everything is the same, though. Evolving from the battle system presented in Final Fantasy XII is a less turn-based and more real action battle system. This new battle system is sure to delight both the newcomers and the veteran fans. Sure some will have a hard time getting used to the new system. But this is just a small part of all the changes that took place in FF XIII. Those annoying random encounters that have been haunting the series for a long time are not gone as FF XIII will have a real time encounter system more similar to what's found in the online iteration of Final Fantasy XI. Thanks to the fact that it was built with a completely new engine, it takes advantage of all the HD capabilities of the new systems. The visuals are sure stunning, with vibrant colors and open
environments that contrast with some of the more closed doors scenes in previous games. With all the new technology advancements, the experience is completely different. The key elements that made the series so great make a return to Final Fantasy XII in an experience you can't miss.
