RATIONALE

SugarThrillz(2017)

Throughout the seven units I have covered this year I feel like I have completed tasks to a high standard and have learnt so much more about the fashion industry. My favorite subjects I have studied so far is visual merchandising and marketing. I really enjoy being creative and making the window box was really enjoyable. I also really enjoyed marketing and feel like that may be a career path I chose to take, making look books, and fashion videos was what I enjoyed most. I improved my presentation skills with this unit. I want to do marketing and communications, and if I have time also some visual merchandising.

PROJECT CONCEPT In this project I will be creating a collaboration between online only store SugarThrillz, and the famous trendy doll, Bratz. I chose these brands because I love the girly look and pastel colours SugarThrillz uses, and I love the style bratz have and they are nostalgic to many teen girls. I will be creating a look-book of clothes that will be released from this collaboration, and will use props to make the pictures interesting. I will create both online, and offline campaigns to sell and promote the products. An online campaign will be making an Instagram page, and an offline campaign would be pop-up photobooths with branding all over them. I plan to also include some elements of visual merchandising, by creating a floor plan and by making a window box .

For research I will create a physical sketchbook to hand in, including photos, annotations and magazine cut-outs. I will also be making a pathbrite folder for research so i can include article links and videos to annotate. I chose to make the majority of my research physical because i like making collages and being creative. During my project I will keep track of my progress with smart targets, making sure to be honest about my progress and what I actually get completed. After my project I will evaluate my work, and what I do and don’t like about what I have created. I will also write notes during this project.

This project is about the collaboration between Bratz and sugarthrillz that I have created. In this project I will plan offline and online campaign ideas, as well as a launch party and pop up shop. I will also creat a lookbook, and edit the photos to look interesting and more professional.

ABOUT BRATZ THE GIRLS WITH A PASSION FOR FASHION

Bratz is an American product line of fashion dolls the four original dolls were released in 2001; Yasmin, Cloe, Jade, and Sasha. They are known for their almondshaped eyes, lush glossy lips and great sense of style. Bratz dolls have provoked controversy in several areas. The brand has always followed pop culture trends closely, from the dolls' fashion-forward clothing to their bratty attitudes. They are known for being sassy and always on trend. Although they are not found on the shelves now, the target market (females aged 16-25) will remember the dolls as a big part of their childhoods. With a large Instagram following of 95k, Bratz are still pretty popular considering they haven't been producing dolls for the last 3 years. However, it is rumored that the dolls will relaunch in the Autumn of 2018, which is why this collaboration is coming at a great time for the comapany.

ABOUT SUGARTHRILLZ AS SWEET AS SUGAR

With an encouraged edge in personal style, SugarThrillz strays far from the fashion industries "norm". SugarThrillz clothing, shoes and accessories are so sickly sweet and cute you can’t help but want one of everything!  Pinks and other pastel shades are popular on this site and their quirky novelty bags are a must have for every outfit. I love the style this brand promotes because it is different and interesting. Also it is so cute and reaches out to a niche market and sells clothes unlike any other brand you would find on the high-street. With over 97k followers on Instagram, this adorable brand has a large number of fans and influencers who help to promote its products. Their instagram account is very aesthetic and is a visual representation of the brand. They appeal to a young female audience, (aged 18-30), and their online profiles reflect this. 'Our dolls portray a mood of effortlessness in any style they possess. They aren't confined to one style - they like to test the boundaries of today's society just to keep things interesting. Online Campaigns ADVERTS ON SOCAIL MEDIA PLATFORMS I have created several adverts which can be shown on many different social media platforms. These adverts are bright and eye catching, and clearly show what they are advertising. the bright pink colour used on the background is a signature colour used in the collection, and across this whole project.


Online Campaigns INSTAGRAM PAGE I have created an aesthetically pleasing instagram page, posting photos that show the mood of this collaboration and the products that will be sold. this helps promote the project and will help drive interest and sales of the collaboration. With the amount of interest and followers of this account we will be able to tell how successful this account is. A key performance indicator would be the amount of likes and interest the posts gain.

USE OF INFLUENCERS The brand 'SugarThrillz' already uses popular instagramers influence to gain potential customers attention and to promote their products and instagram account. For this project they could use famous influencer---- to promote this collaboration and gain more interest from the target marketwho would be the followers of this influencer.

USE OF HASHTAGS On the instagram account i have used hashtags to reach a wider audience, and to reach more of my target customers. I have created the hashtag '#sugarbratz' to draw attention to the project, and once a customer receives their purchase, they can post a picture of the item with that hashtag to get re-posted. by re-posting customers photos this not only gives them more followers and likes, but also show that our products are good quality and the customers are liking what they purchase.


Offline Campaign PHOTOBOOTHS

One of my ideas to promote this collaboration using offline techniques, is by having photo booths placed around London. These photo booths will be covered in the branding, and have the logo I have designed on them to promote the collaboration. This is a mock up of the photo booths that will be used, and also an example of what the photos will look like. I chose to make the borders of the photos bright and made sure they had branding on them so that people remeber what brand the photo booths were advertising. Also I will include the hashtag on the bottom to promote, this is the same hashtag that will be used on instagram so that people can post photos with the hashtag to draw attention to the collaboration.


Offline Campaign BUSSTOP ADVERTS

My other idea for offline marketing, would be to have adverts on bus stops and billboards. These adverts will be in visable and busy places so that they are seen. These adverts will have the similar images and colour schemes shown on them so that they are recognizable. The adverts I have designed have pink backgrounds and they have models wearing items from the new range on them. These adverts will grabs the attention of the customer, and draw attention to the collaboration. On these bus stop adverts I will have a QR code which people can scan to view the collection, and shop online. this drives traffic directly to the website and will boost sales.

I chose Michell Dee as my influencer as she is quirky and likes alternate fashion. She always has different coloured and styled hair, and dresses in what suits her. She would be a perfect influencer to promote this project as she matches the pen profile. She has over 70k followers on instagram, with her posts getting thousands of likes and comments each day.

The company would contact her and send 3 items from the collection for free, in return she would agree to post pictures in the clothes using the hashtags and tagging the @SugarxBratz account.Â

I have created an instagram feed for this collaboration. I have made the page aesthetically pleasing and it will hopefully attract the target customer.

This page has alot of pastel pink used, this will gain likes and follows from my target customer (girls aged between 18-30) who are on social media. The pictures are very 'cute' and match with the theme of both the Sugarthrillz and Bratz brands.

The picture have branding all over them so that if they are repsoted they would be recognisd and wil send more people to the instagram page to look further at the account.

Advertisment is key when promoting a new brand product or collaboration. I have designed adverts to be displayed on bus stops, this is an example of one. I would also like these adverts shown on big electronic boards, like the ones they have around the city and in shopping centers such as Westfield.Â

I've created 4 adverts which all have the same background and follow simular themes so that when they are shown they look simular and all reflect the asethetic of the collaboration.Â

Here is an emaple of a news letter which could be emailed out to those who are subsribed to the Sugarthrillz newsletter. This would attract already existing customers of the brand, and make them aware of the collaboration.


To Launch the collection we will hold a party. With fabulous pink and sparkly decorations. There will be balloons with the logo on them,and neon signs at the event with slogans and quotes. At the event there will be a wall of flowers where guests will be able to take selfies and photos and be promoted to post along

LAUNCH PARTY

WHO? WHAT? WHEN? WHERE? There will be influencers invited to attend so they will post about it and their followers will hopefully gain interest in the collection. The event will take place in the popup shop location in early July. There will be a guest list but also a access to members of the public, let in on a first come first serve basis. At this event people will be able to view and purchase the collection for the first time.


The popup shop will be on Carnaby street. I feel like this would be an ideal location for the shop as the street attracts the target audience. The exterior will be white, and interior will be pink. This shop will be stocking the entier sugarbratz collection as well as some favourites from the Sugarthrillz online store. This shop will be

DECORATIONS The interior will be pink and white. There will be lots of glitter and neon lights decorating the shop, making it very Instagramable. The exterior will be white with pink hearts painted, and interior will have mostly pink walls. There will be round rails in the center of the store and shelfing and rails around the walls. The dressing rooms will have pink crushed velvet seats and curtains.
