WHO AM I.
I am someone that is always in search of the cause and effect process. I am intrigued by all things and it is in all things that intrigue me to create. Being a dreamer I can only imagine that my first experiences in life were ones of being an inquisitive soul. I find myself in a state of dreaming constantly and there is never a subject that is always the same but different things trigger my mind to wander. I think this is what drives me to be always asking questions, always trying to work my way through limitations and develop in new and different areas. To describe my deepest layer, I would say that I am always searching to connect. Connection is vital for me to be in an area of creating and I thirst for it constantly. There are many areas that tie me into this where a person, a song, colour or even nature unites me with an emotion and I find it to be the ground from where inspiration is unlocked . In this process I free my mind of the conventional and set the stage to catch concepts for my works in hope to convert the connections into a tangible experience. The practise reminds me of a quote from Hermin Melville that explains it so elegantly. "We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men; and among those fibers, as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects." Herman Melville

2 BIOGRAPHY
Beci Culley is a Brisbane based contemporary abstract artist. She was born in Geelong Victoria and raised in Manly, Brisbane. Taken to art classes that her mother was participating in, her aesthetic in art was developed from a very early age. After finishing school Beci became a Graphic Designer and later spent her time studying music where her romanticism in her lyric writing was honed and transferred later into her artwork. With the launch of her career as an artist, she has participated in many group shows around Australia, America and Italy. Beci’s artwork is an often-brooding combination of emotional and spiritual themes, which has a drive for freedom from boundaries. Her body of work is infused with her expression of romance and powerful displays of patterned layers that reflect her love of nature and fashion. Her journey has dipped her brush into a broad range of the arts including Graphic Design (Adorne Accessories), Musical Theatre (Harvest Rain Theatre – QPAC), Make-up Artistry and Photography. Although Beci is based in Brisbane she regularly visits Florence, Italy where she continues her studies in art and Italian.

My illustrations and prints are the soul of my work as a Graphic Designer
European countries, specifically focusing on Italy as my first conquest.
I have been a Graphic Designer for over 10 years now and throughout my time in working in various agencies I have discovered a love of illustration.
Italy is a place where I find renewed creativity and a sense of connection to culture. I am addicted to learning the Italian’s passion for life, love, fashion, art and most importantly food!
This has is a relatively new experience for me and it has been slowly developing for over the last 4 years. My prints have been exhibited in multiple galleries, cafes and stores around Queensland and Victoria and I am hoping to branch out internationally by expanding into the
Their passion to overdose on as it is essentially the fire that ignites my soul to want to create and I have to have my fix often. The following prints are a selection of recent works that I have completed in the last year.

I t delivers a voice to the words
I had alot of fun with designing the store front for the Pop Up Store in Melbourne. We wanted to develope a look that was a little different to our retail stores to set it apart.
8
The gold glitter effect was a fun way to parade glamour which is the very heart of Adorne. The Pop Up Logo that I designed has an energy about it. It delivers a voice to the words and it pronounces a feeling of someone shouting. This giving the logo a strong introduction into the small space we had to gather the publics attention.
Using a similar theme to Clutch Society, we incorporated the use of black and white stripes as a feature and dazzled it with a gold glitter effect as a boarder.

clutch development a series of patterned clutches
These clutches are a series that I developed for Adorne. The concept was to design a series of bright, colourful, trending patterns that would be transfered onto a polyurethane material.
22
CLUTCH DE VELOPMENT
product evolve to what it has become has been very r ewarding. My main focus for this design was to bring a sophistication and edge to the brand.
Clutch Society breaks away from the pack, specialising only in bringing its members the latest, up-to-the-minute street style in everything Clutches!
I also wanted it to reflect the same quality as to what the clutches were being distributed as, high qualtiy, up to date trends that catered for all ages.
I developed the logo and concept for advertising as well as the textile patterns within the clutches. This was a fun branding experience and seeing the CS_A3 Stripes Logo .indd 1

Working on textiles for Adorne is a relatively new venture. There has been a change in the market and we decided to branch out and start buying clothing to broaden our range. The work that I have added into my portfolio is a display of some of the workings behind the textiles that we haeve been working on. These are currently in production and we will be launching them for summer 2017 as an introduction to our fashion capsule.

THANK YOU
10 TH A N K YO U
Thankyou for taking the time to view my portfolio. As you can see that through my experience I have obtained a wide range of skills through working as a Graphic Designer and I know that there is always so much more to learn. My vision for the future is to be always advancing in my skills and seeking out new and fresh ideas that will hopefully set design trends that would be carried out throughout the industry.
I work very hard to navigate through challenges and am efficient with my turn around times, from development of concept to finalising the finish product. I hope that you have enjoyed looking through my work and hope that there could be a space for me to share my design skills with you.
