God of the Ages Whose Almighty Hand

Prayer of Confession: Lord God, eternal and almighty Father: We acknowledge before you that we are sinners, unable of our own power to do good. Because of our sin, we repeatedly break your holy commandments. Lord, we repent. We turn away from our sins with true sorrow asking that your grace will relieve our distress and restore our peace and hope. Have compassion on us, most gracious God, for the sake of your son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Silent Confession

Confessional Response: Kyrie Kyrie eleison; Christe eleison; Kyrie eleison. Translation: Lord have mercy; Christ have mercy; Lord have mercy. Assurance of Pardon:

Romans 5:1-2

*Doxology and Prayer of Dedication:

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow, Praise Him, all creatures here below, Praise Him above, ye heavenly host, Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen. *Affirmation of Faith: The Apostles’ Creed Hymnal, Page 14 I believe in God, the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ, His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.

Concerns and Prayers of Our Church Family The Lord’s Prayer (in unison) Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and power, and glory, forever.

From Our New Youth & Young Adult Director Thank you for the warm reception to the FPC family. My wife Tia, daughter Shekinah and I are grateful. It’s great getting to know our students and young adults, and learning from them. It’s equally important for me to get to know and hear from our students’ parents. Shortly I’ll be asking to meet with you after each service to hear your thoughts and hopes for FPC’s Youth Ministry. I look forward to meeting with our youth and young adults as well and sharing my thoughts with everyone. Thank you again for the privilege to serve. I am available at nigel@fpcnorfolk.org or 757-625-1697 ext. 335
