“I can’t wait to see YOU there!” Jim and I have always loved going to camp with our church family. We enjoy the time spent in fellowship and growing our relationships with each member of our church family. There is always a huge supply of laughter, growth and joy together! Please register online or on Sunday morning in The Commons to make certain that you will be part of this incredibly memorable experience. It is going to be great, I can’t wait to see YOU there! Call me if you have any questions 692-9255 and don’t forget our potluck on March 11 at 5:30. Loving serving by your side! Sheryl Wood

On Sunday June 17th we will all head up to camp. We’ll get settled and have a great dinner together and then have family worship time. Then of course it is time for a roaring campfire, guitar songs and s’mores, not to mention some great stories.

There are a few options for you and your family. You may sleep with your family, or along with another family in a cabin that holds 8. Or you may sign up to sleep in a cabin of your same gender.

The first day of mission work begins with planting, mulching and working as a team to complete our service, young and old! As a church family, ages 4 to 95, we will work on a fabulous farm to help get food to people. We will work side by side and then have a picnic lunch together. Visit volunteerfarm.org to check out exactly how we will be helping. After that we head back to the camp.

The cost for the trip (Cabins for 2 nights and all meals) $120 per person 13 and older, $90 per persons 6-12 and $70 for persons 3-5. If you choose you also may stay in a room at the hotel that has 2 twin beds and a bath that is attached to another room. Those costs are $178 per person for adult, $134 per person 13-18, $112 per person 6-12 and $92 per person 3-5.

There we will have a great afternoon full of swimming, canoeing, hiking, biking, running, fishing or just rocking on the front porch of the hotel and enjoying the glorious mountains. Then we’ll gather for a FPC family meal followed by an exciting night with the organization of Stop Hunger now. A truck delivers huge bags of beans and rice, and we will package 10,000 easy to distribute meals for international hunger relief. Please go to Stophungernow.org. Afterwards we’ll wind down again after our wonderful mission day. We will gather for group and worship time and then get ready for the s’mores. After another great night’s sleep we will rise, get ready for breakfast, and gather one last time to share our experiences at camp. I hope to see you and your family for this wonderful family event.
