We are Bedding House, a Dutch family business specialized in designing and distributing bed and bath linen. We offer trendy brands in bed and bath textiles, based on knowledge, passion and craftmanship. Our aim is to create the perfect sleeping experience. By following the latest trends in colour and design that respond to the consumer’s desire, to upgrade their bedroom or bathroom and give it a modern look. And by offering the right and innovative qualities we create an ultimate combination between trends and comfort.

The autumn/winter ‘24 collections are designed with one goal in mind: to provide people with the experience of a good night’s sleep. The collections once again feature various qualities, allowing the customer to select the one that best suits their sleeping needs. In addition to the well-known qualities of cotton, cotton satin, and cotton flannel, our fabric range also includes lyocell, circular flannel, and velvet, ensuring a cosy night’s sleep, even on cold winter nights.

At Bedding House, we value not only providing various quality options for our

The core principles of Beddinghouse are beautiful designs and sustainable fabrics to ensure a comfortable sleep experience. The designs are inspired by global interior and fashion trends, which is translated into stories.

Beddinghouse emphasizes the importance of bedding in improving sleep quality and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Often, bedding is chosen for its visual attractiveness or affordability rather than considering fabric properties tailored to individual sleep needs.

Fabrics significantly influence the sleep experience, with characteristics like

texture, breathability, and moistureabsorbing properties being crucial for comfort and a good night’s rest.

Beddinghouse suggests selecting bedding that aligns with personal sleep preferences, offering options such as cotton flannel for warmth or lyocell for a moisture regulating properties.

Moreover, we prioritizes sustainable materials, constantly innovating to enhance sleep experiences and reduce environmental impact, focusing on durability and washability.

New this season

Beddinghouse - winter qualities

For the winter, nothing beats the warm comfort of flannel and the luxurious feel of velvet. Flannel ensures warmth on cold nights while maintaining its soft touch. Our newest addition in the Beddinghouse collection is printed velvet, which offers warmth, softness, and a touch of luxury. Again this season we have post-consumer recycled flannel, combining warmth with ecofriendliness.

Sustainability

Already years ago, Bedding House initiated a policy to contribute to a better and more sustainable future. We choose to focus on Product, People and Packaging.

Product Bedding House strives to achieve sustainability in the entire production line and the aim is to include the entire process - from the plant to the product - in this goal.

What we do

Beddinghouse has introduced a modern white story, called ‘Sillence’. It is ‘designed for recycling’.

During the designing phase of these duvet covers, thought was given to what happens to these products after long-term usage, in terms of sustainability. ‘Design for recycling’ is key for Beddinghouse, minimizing the necessity of new raw materials in the future. These duvet covers are literally designed to be recycled, which means that even after frequent use, new yarns can easily be made from the fabric of these covers in order to create new beautiful products.

Our sustainable line called Beddinghouse Care provides more sustainable alternatives than regular cottton, such as lyocell and organic

cotton. The organic cotton is carrying the GOTS quality label. What is equally important, is that these materials provide the perfect sleeping experience.

Our brand Beddinghouse Dutch Design carries the Global Organic Textile Standard quality mark as well. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognized as the world’s leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibres. An assessment is made to ensure that the entire production process, from harvesting to the final product, is environmentally friendly and socially responsible. This includes reducing water and energy consumption, prohibiting child labor, and providing a safe and hygienic working environment.

Bedding House has been a proud partner of Better Cotton since 2016. Better Cotton’s mission is to help cotton communities survive and thrive, while protecting and restoring the environment. By buying cotton products from Bedding House you’re supporting responsible cotton production through Better Cotton.

Last but not least our products are also Oekotex certified. Which means that no harmful dyes and pesticides have been used. This is better for the environment, your health and also gentle on your skin.

People

We support projects at home and abroad that are primarily concerned with the well-being of people. Bedding House’s products are made in Pakistan, India, Turkey and China and we select our manufacturers in these countries with great care to ensure that good working conditions are in place. We also visit our manufacturers regularly to ensure that products are made to our specifications.

Bedding House is supporting Mercy Ships since 2019. Mercy Ships is an international organization providing free medical care in developing countries on board of the largest non-governmental hospital ships of the world. Our sponsorship consists of providing bed textiles for the hundreds of hospital beds on the ship.

We are also supporting UNICEF with a project in Ivory Coast, where building blocks are made from plastic waste to construct schools.

PVC-free packaging

Packaging

Bedding House is highly aware of the adverse effects of plastic on our planet. In order to reduce the usage of PVC, it is our objective to package all our products 100% PVC free. Rethinking the way we design our packaging is one step further down the road to a cleaner environment and a sustainable future. We have already successfully developed sustainable packaging for most of our brands, and are committed to ensure this for all of them in the near future.

The bed linen from the care collection is made from materials that disperse moisture well, have antibacterial properties and are generally easier to recycle. The amount of water used in this production of these materials is considerably less than regular cotton.

Lyocell is made from the cellulose fibres from beech trees. These trees can be grown using waste water and fewer harmful solvents. The cultivation process is very environmentally because the tree needs less water, pesticides and fertilizer to grown.

Southern France

This season, the inspiration for the collection comes from a period when Vincent spent his time in the South of France (1888-1889). Old Vineyard with Peasant Woman

Van Gogh focused on painting in the final months of his life. He completed only a few large, finished drawings, including this one of a vineyard in Auvers. We find the same wavy lines in his late paintings.

Van Gogh began with a pencil drawing. Then he added oil paint and watercolour in many different shades of blue. He painted some of the roofs red, but these have since faded to brown. Because he left large areas of the paper blank, the colour white plays a large role in the scene.

After spending two years in Paris, Vincent longed for the peace of the countryside, which he hoped to find in Provence, in the South of France.

Once in the southern French town of Arles, he immediately started painting the surroundings. In the process, he tried to use everything he had learned to create his own style, he varied the shape of his brushstrokes: from dots and flecks to coarser sweeping strokes.

This energetic and vibrant collection captures the essence of Vincent’s time in Provence, with sketches and notes from his daily life.

Japan

Van Gogh was a great admirer of Japanese art. He wrote that it made him happy and cheerful. Japanese printmaking was one of Vincent’s biggest sources of inspiration, starting in 1887. He also add e d the two orange borders with Japanese characters for a decorative and exotic effect.

Almond trees flower early in spring. The tree therefore marks the arrival of spring and the start of new life. And that was very appropriate in this case, as Vincent didn’t paint this work for just any old reason. The painting was a gift for his brother and the birth of his son.

Almond Blossom

In January 1890 Theo wrote to Vincent that his wife Johanna had given birth to a son. The baby was to be named Vincent Willem, after his godfather. As a gift for the new arrival Vincent painted a picture of one of his favourite subjects, large branches of blossom against a blue sky. He thought that the work could be hung above the marital bed. Vincent chose the branches of the almond tree as a symbol of new life for the almond is one of the earliest trees to blossom, heralding spring in February. The artist drew his inspiration for the welldefined contouring and positioning of the tree in the picture plane from Japanese prints.

Nature was hugely important to Vincent. It endlessly inspired and comforted him.

In the south of France he searched for the colour and light, he made many different flowers in both natural landscape and prepared still life settings.

Sunflowers

A symphony in blue and yellow was how Van Gogh thought the interior of the yellow house should appear when Gauguin arrived. He wanted to impress his friend with a series of decorative still lifes of sunflowers. These still lifes were to grace the walls of Gauguin’s bedroom and be framed with ‘thin slats of wood, painted in red lead’. Van Gogh started the series with great ardour. He had to work quickly as the flowers quickly wilted in a vase:

Self Portraits

The majority of Vincents self-portraits – over 25 – were done while he was in Paris (1886–1888). He was short of money in that period and struggled to find models. So the artist chose the simplest solution and painted himself.

To save money, he sometimes painted self-portraits on the back of other paintings. By doing that, he avoided the costs not only of a model but also of expensive canvas.

Three of his self-portraits are used on our decorative cushion designs.

A symphony in blue and yellow was how Van Gogh thought the interior of the yellow house should appear when Gauguin arrived. 75 YEARS OF CREATIVITY ARIADNE THROUGH THE YEARS

In 1947, the 'Monthly Magazine for Crafts' appeared on store shelves for the first time. This magazine was tailored to women who enjoyed working with needle and thread. In every issue, they could find trendy patterns and inspiration to create clothing for themselves and their children, as well as ideas to brighten up their interiors with romantic embroidery and crocheted accessories. In 1959, the magazine was renamed 'Ariadne: Monthly Magazine for Crafts' and the cover was also spruced up with a splash of colour.

FROM FASHION TO HOME

While there were always great ideas for your interior in 'Ariadne', in the early days the emphasis was primarily on fashion. This changed in the 90s: for the first time, atmospheric photos of living rooms appeared on the cover. In the 2000s, the magazine was revamped once again and received its current name: Ariadne at Home.

A lifelong passion for nature combined with a desire to show people what is right there in their backyard is the source of Marjolein’s inspiration. Marjolein’s artwork exhibits her endless curiosity and fascination with nature. The collection brings that sentiment straight into your home. Capturing her love for nature, this bedding collection is a collaborative effort between Marjolein Bastin and Bedding House.

Marjolein’s love for nature started at a young age. While exploring her parents’ garden in Loenen aan de Vecht, every creature, flower and plant captured her imagination. Projecting her fascination with the natural world onto a piece of paper has been her life’s mission, starting with a few sketches she drew for her mother to the paintings that give all of us a glimpse into Marjolein’s world.

Her travels give Marjolein the opportunity to give us a glimpse into what nature has to offer throughout the world. No insect too small, no flower too timid, Marjolein uncovers elements in nature that are easily overlooked by others. A butterfly fluttering over a field of wildflowers, a squirrel hastily stocking its food reserves, a lone cuckoo flower on the lawn; suddenly they take center stage. All the designs show her love for nature and emphasize that happiness can be found close to home.
