Met ons eigen merk Beddinghouse zijn we een exclusief partnership gestart met één van de meest gewaarderde musea ter wereld: Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam. Onze gewaardeerde studio heeft zeven overtrekken en zeven decoratieve kussens ontworpen geïnspireerd op de schilderijen van Vincent van Gogh. De overtrekken passen ook nog eens perfect in het huidige trendbeeld en alle overtrekken zijn van hoogwaardig katoensatijn. Met deze collectie spreken we een brede doelgroep aan. Immers, het Van Gogh Museum is geliefd onder jong en oud, man en vrouw, en over de hele wereld! Beddinghouse has launched a brandnew collection of bath textiles. The Beddinghouse bath textiles collection consists of eight colour combinations in different designs and sizes. The Beddinghouse collection is made of 100% highquality cotton with a very high absorbency – it‘s breathable, thick and fluffy, and feels extremely soft to the touch. There‘s sure to be

In dit boek leest u er alles over. The second major new collection is Beddinghouse bath textiles. This includes guest towels, hand towels, washcloths, and a bath rug in a number of basic and trendy colours, both plain and striped. All are made of a very good quality cotton (600 g/m2). Just like the Beddinghouse bath textile collection, this range bears the Better Cotton Initiative label. You can read all about it in this book.

In Ever Green staat de kleur groen centraal; deze kleur is nog steeds niet weg te denken uit het modebeeld. Hierin zien we ook animal prints en veel, soms verstopte, dieren. The At Home by Beddinghouse brand has been given a completely new positioning. This fashionable collection combines warm colours with fine fabrics, creating a look that is as opulent as it is inviting. This turns the bedroom into a place where you feel at home. Alongside these innovations, our Beddinghouse stories offer a wide range of designs that have plenty of colour. Ever Green focuses on green, a timeless colour in the fashion world. Here we also see animal prints and a range of animals, some of which are hidden.

This story is all about symmetry and designs that mix elegance with the odd hint of drama, like Beddinghouse Brazil. The story Boudoir Chic is an ode to romance: floral, extravagant, and feminine, in a colour palette that ranges from powder pink to ochre yellow. There are also the edgy designs and organic shapes in Raw Edge, which is all about elemental tones from the nature around us.

The new collection features a whole spectrum of warm colours, rich materials, and different styles and designs. This mix gives the collection a unique character and a real sense of home.
Kleurrijk zijn ook de ontwerpen van Oilily. Dit merk gaat back to haar roots en als vanouds geven ze je dat vrolijke, blije gevoel. De dessins van Marjolein Bastin zijn een vaste waarde in onze collectie met nog steeds een grote schare fans. Nieuw hier is de toevoeging van flanel. In de collectie van Ariadne vindt u vertrouwde dessins. Om weer helemaal aan te sluiten bij de trends hebben we de verpakkingen van Ariadne een update gegeven. En tenslotte is daar nog de herkenbare Kardol collectie, geïnspireerd op architectuur, kunst, natuur en fashion. Oilily‘s designs are also colourful. This brand is going back to its roots and, as always, is a real mood lifter. The designs by Marjolein Bastin are a fixture in our collection, which still has a huge number of fans, but with the added twist that they‘re now also in flannel. The Ariadne collection has some familiar designs, but to stay fully in line with current trends, we have updated its packaging. And finally, there is the familiar Kardol collection – inspired by architecture, art, nature, and fashion.

“We partner with the Better Cotton Initiative to improve cotton farming globally” At Bedding House we take our responsibility towards a better environment and a better society seriously. We want to create beautiful collections that minimize the harmful impact on the environment and are produced by farmers who conserve natural habitats. • The result of our investment in 2016 shows that we have reached over 400 farmers. • In the 2015-2016 season, BCI farmers in Pakistan used 21% less water for irrigation than comparison farmers. After all, more than 95% of our products are made of cotton. Together with BCI, we invest in sustainable cotton production.
People We support projects at home and abroad that are primarily concerned with the well-being of people. Beddinghouse’s products are made in Pakistan, India and China and we select our manufacturers in these countries with great care to ensure that good working conditions are in place. We also visit our manufacturers at least twice a year to ensure that products are made to our specifications. Collaboration with the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) also ensures that we keep an eye on the human aspect of the process. ‘‘BCI currently works with 40.560 women farmers worldwide’’ Packaging Unfortunately, we are still forced to use plastic packaging, which places a high burden for the environment. A suitable PVC-free packaging material have not been identified yet, but ultimately the best option is a product that does not require packaging or wrapping. ‘‘More research needs to be done.’’ Product Beddinghouse strives to achieve sustainability in the entire production line, and the aim is to include the entire process - from the plant to the end product in this goal. Our target is to use only 100% sustainable cotton in the future, which is produced completely in an environmentally-friendly manner. ‘‘50% BCI cotton by 2021’’

Sunflowers A symphony in blue and yellow was how Van Gogh thought the interior of the yellow house should appear when Gauguin arrived. He wanted to impress his friend with a series of decorative still lifes of sunflowers. These still lifes were to grace the walls of Gauguin’s bedroom and be framed with ‘thin slats of wood, painted in red lead’. Van Gogh started the series with great ardour. He had to work quickly as the flowers quickly wilted in a vase: ‘I am painting with the enthusiasm of a resident of Marseilles eating surprise you, when it involves painting large sunflowers’. Gauguin considered the paintings highly successful and declared that sunflowers should be Van Gogh’s trademark. In 1889 Van Gogh tackled the motif once more, in this canvas now in the Van Gogh Museum.

Wild Roses Towards the end of his stay in the psychiatric facility in Saint-RĂŠmy-de-Provence, Van Gogh regains a serenity and joy of life that he had almost forgotten. This state of mind can be seen in his work of this period, especially in the sketches of flowers he created in the hospital garden. He writes to his mother and tells her that watching the budding flowers is good for his health. Apart from his famous Irises (1889),

he paints white roses. The subject, the technique, close-up, black outlines, and lack of background refer to the Japanese print art. A few years before, Van Gogh discovered several Japanese woodblock printing artists in Paris, who practiced this refined and elegant art. Almond Blossom In January 1890 Theo wrote to Vincent that his wife Johanna had given birth to a son. The baby was to be named Vincent Willem, after his godfather. As a gift for the new arrival Vincent painted a picture of one of his favourite subjects, large branches of blossom against a blue sky. He thought that the work could be hung above Theo’s marital bed. Vincent chose the branches of the almond tree as a symbol of young life for the almond is one of the earliest trees to blossom, heralding spring in February. The artist drew his inspiof the tree in the picture plane from Japanese prints. Over the years the painting has lost some of its colour.

Small Bottle with Peonies and Blue Delphiniums Van Gogh painted this flower still life on a simple piece of card, using rapid, loose brushstrokes. It is one of many studies in which he experimented with the effects of different colours on each other. His brother Theo wrote to their mother: ‘He is mainly painting flowers, with the aim of making future pictures brighter in colour. Boulevard de Clichy Boulevard de Clichy is one of the major streets in the Paris district of Montmartre, where many artists lived. Van Gogh painted the junction that he often crossed. Rue Lepic, where he lived with his brother Theo, began on the right, just beyond the edge of the picture. In Paris, Van Gogh was exposed to the latest art movements of his day, Impressionism and Pointillism. This gradually led him to use lighter colours. He also experimented with a variety of painting techniques. His style of brushwork, with many dashes movements. In the same paintings, he also tried out diluted oil paint.

Vase with Chinese Asters and Gladioli Van Gogh had always used generous amounts of paint. But after discovering the flower still lifes of Adolphe Monticelli (1824-1886) in June 1886, he went one step further. That French artist painted colourful bouquets with thick paint and emphatic brushstrokes. Van Gogh compared them to liquid clay. In still lifes such as Vase with Chinese Asters and Gladioli, you can see how thickly he began applying the paint to the canvas in his own flowers.

HOW Are these flowers made of porcelain or plaster? Neither! The flowers on this frame are made of silk and have been painted white. They're sure to add some cuteness to your bedroom.

Cut artificial flowers to size and paint them in several layers of opaque white. This makes the flowers look as if they've been dipped in plaster. Spray a frame with a few layers of plain white too. For years these scenes have been artfully adapted in cooperation with Bedding House to create beautiful bedding products. Marjolein’s passie voor het natuurlijke schouwspel is van een universeel karakter dat mensen overal aantrekt. De emotionele verbondenheid met alles dat in haar tuin kruipt, vliegt, groeit en bloeit komt duidelijk tot uiting in haar werk. Een wandeling door het bos, vogels kijken in de duinen, een tocht door de weilanden, al deze ervaringen brengen Marjolein geluk en inspiratie. De kleinste details die makkelijk over het hoofd worden gezien spelen veelal een hoofdrol in het werk van Marjolein: een eenzaam lieveheersbeestje, een dartelende vlinder, kleine bloemetjes in een grote wei, het zijn natuurmomenten die Marjolein door middel van haar werk weet vast te houden.
De fascinatie met de natuur in haar directe omgeving begon al toen ze nog maar een paar jaar oud was en leeft nog steeds hevig in Marjolein door. Een sterke behoefte deze fascinatie met anderen te delen motiveerde haar de liefde voor de natuur te vertalen naar tekeningen die al jarenlang door miljoenen mensen gewaardeerd worden. Ook deze dessins brengen de liefde voor de natuur mee en benadrukken dat geluk vaak heel dicht bij huis te vinden is.
