WHAT IS AN APPRENTICESHIP? An apprenticeship is a way to combine working and training. Training is provided on-the-job and through college attendance. You can start an apprenticeship straight after school or college, or even if you’re already working. You will earn a wage whilst gaining recognised qualifications and essential skills. Business Improvement Techniques Apprentice at Weetabix I’ve been given plenty of support during my time here and I’ve enjoyed learning lots of new skills. My people skills have really flourished and I am constantly interacting with staff from all sorts of departments and different areas, including senior members of the team. I think Weetabix has done exceptionally well in incorporating me as an apprentice into the day-today working life of the company.

I have been offered an apprenticeship 1. I f you have already been offered an apprenticeship, you or your employer will need to contact our Business Development team. 2. A member of the Business Development team will then contact the company to confirm that they have offered you an apprenticeship. 3. We will visit your employer to discuss your apprenticeship training needs and will then develop a training programme to suit you. 4. You will then be invited in to the College to discuss your apprenticeship and we will enrol you.

I am looking for an apprenticeship 1. W e have hundreds of vacancies each year, visit our website to find your perfect apprenticeship. 2. Once you have found an apprenticeship you are interested in, check you meet the criteria and complete the online application form. If you need help completing the application form, contact our Recruitment team. 3. You will be allocated an Apprenticeship Recruitment Adviser who will support you with your application and help you prepare for employment. 4. Our Recruitment team will keep in contact with any other available vacancies and support you with any queries you may have. 5. Following a successful interview with the employer you will then be enrolled and start your apprenticeship!

Since starting, I have already acquired many valuable qualifications including brush-cutting, strimming and also gained my pesticide licences. I have worked with large organisations like the Wildlife Trust, Greensand Trust and Natural England. Whilst working with these organisations I have learnt what they do as well as different aspects of habitat management.
