Based within the 40-acre Botanic Garden, the trainees are able to learn and perform the wide range of horticultural skills that are required to maintain a diverse collection of over 8,000 plants, which is of international importance. The scheme is demanding and is intended for those wishing to gain experience in practical horticulture, collection management and plantsmanship. Trainees are part of the staff of the Botanic Garden and receive a salary. Hotel Leone is a small boutique hotel and restaurant in Montelparo, Le Marche,

Central Italy and is owned and run by an English couple – Madeline and Tim Jones. The hotel has been open since the start of May 2012 and its busiest time is during the summer months of July and August. We have a varied client base providing an exceptionally high level of personalised service. Every one of our customers is a V.I.P! We operate with a small team of staff who need to be able to cover varied positions. We don’t employ ‘a receptionist’, ‘a barman’, ‘a waitress’ - each member of the team is expected to seamlessly merge these roles as needed (and frequently at the same time!). We are searching for a student to join us for 3 months in the summer season (ideally June August/September) where they will have the opportunity to work in the service industry. We will provide accommodation and all meals. In return we require the student to work an average of 40-hour week spread over 6 days with one day off each week. This will most likely entail split shifts as we must cover breakfast, lunch and dinner services as well as a bar, which is open all day. The main duties are outlined below in the Job Description but these may be extended to other areas of the hotel if the need arises e.g. general administration duties, reception, room servicing.

Front of House Service Assistant Reporting to: Front of House Manager / Owner Job Type: Seasonal – Full Time Hours: 40 per week - Split Shift – as defined by line Manager DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Generally to assist in all operational aspects of the hotel, restaurant and bar and to assist in the smooth running and exceptional levels of service to our customers. Kick Start Work Experience Programme Summer 2018 The BLP Career Kick-Start Work Experience programme is designed to provide Year 12 students with a detailed insight into what it’s like to work in a City law firm and in inhouse legal roles. The programme comprises two weeks as follows: Week One (23 - 27 July 2018) - A week at BLP’s offices, gaining a real insight into what lawyers do on a daily basis via work shadowing as well as information on the different routes in to the profession and a number of skills sessions to help prepare you for the world of work. Week Two (30 July – 3 August 2018) – A week visiting a different organisation each day in a variety of sectors – including sports, financial services and media. To establish, develop and maintain great working relationships with all work colleagues to ensure a ‘one team approach’ to the delivery of the performance standards and business objectives for the Customer Experience Centre. Be an active contributor to and work collaboratively with key departments by providing insight and ideas on improving our Customer experience. Take proactive steps to positively impact Customer Experience Centre targets & measures. With drive and passion, you will strive to meet department standards on a day to day basis with your customer always in mind. Volunteers wanted – St Neots! Switch Socials is the social arm of Switch Now, a not-for-profit training organisation, based in St Neots. Switch Socials is a weekly social group for young adults, 16-30 years old, with learning difficulties and disabilities. The group runs Tuesday evenings 7pm-9pm (term-time). This social group involves age-appropriate activities for the young people to enjoy with their friends. We are seeking reliable, responsible and enthusiastic volunteers, to work with and support the young people who attend this group, in the activities they do. The activities are predominately based at The Bargroves Centre in St Neots or in the local community of St Neots. The activities may include arts & crafts, sports activities, dance classes, bingo and games including themed party nights, etc. You will need a DBS and if possible some experience of working with this target audience, although the main thing is that you can enrich the evenings for these young people, through support, engagement and fun! Travel expenses will be reimbursed. Refreshments will be provided. We would be very happy to offer necessary support in return, if you would like to volunteer as part of your course.
