A GUIDE TO SHUTTLEWORTH COLLEGE
WELCOME TO SHUTTLEWORTH COLLEGE
We are a specialist land-based college, which means that we offer courses in agricultural and environmental education, as well as animal science and outdoor education. We make full use of our natural resources, including a commercial farm, equestrian centre, woodland, walled garden and lakes, all within the stunning location of Old Warden Park near Biggleswade. Back in 1946 we enrolled our first students and established our place as a national centre for agricultural education. Today, both our students and our facilities continue to win national awards. If you have a passion for the great outdoors and want to pursue or enhance your career in the land-based industries, then this is the place for you.

are extremely knowledgeable. “TheWetutors learn through their experience, not
disengaging PowerPoint presentations, and this would be my main reason for recommending the College and study programme to others.
”
Studying at Shuttleworth College has given me high aspirations and I’d love to eventually work abroad in conservation, perhaps with elephants or sea turtles to help preserve these magnificent species. Call: 01767 626222

PETER LICKORISH
PRACTICAL HORTICULTURE RHS LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATE PRINCIPLES OF PLANT GROWTH, HEALTH & APPLIED PROPAGATION RHS LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATE I chose to study at Shuttleworth College because of the wonderful surroundings and brilliant facilities.
has one of the biggest walled “Itgardens around, and really is a College with a soul to it. ”
I run my own small gardening business, do some gardening work for Age UK and give talks on horticultural topics to various gardening clubs. The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) courses are something I have always wanted to do, as I would like to set up my own plant nursery. My tutors are very knowledgeable and patient, and they often go beyond the mandatory units to teach us relevant things outside of the curriculum. One thing we have learned about is grafting, which is a very niche skill to have. You can email the tutors whenever you need to ask them something; they are very supportive.
